Hi All,

We're passing along to the CMs the info that many of you are having trouble responding to the poll. I don't know what they can do about it, but at least they'll know for the future.

Leaving again in the morning for seven nights at the BCV! Finally the kiddos get to be with me for some WDW magic.:goodvibes

I got my Mickey Moms Club email too!! I couldn't vote either, but last time I saved the email and tried another day and it worked.

Erin have a great time!!!! I heard the weather has been great!!!

Happy travels, Erin! Have fun! :goodvibes

More Moms Panel news:

Kara Bacon was featured in a local TV news report.

(The link below features a write-up of the story. Click on the blue video-camera icon (“Omaha’s Disney Wizard”) at the top of the story to view the actual news segment. Also, there’s a second link – within the written piece -- that links to a sit-down interview with Kara.)

Hello everyone...just wanted to check in and say 'hey'! I wasn't able to vote yesterday but tried again today and it worked perfectly...so give it a whirl - they may have fixed the problem.

Wow, Erin...another trip?! The should just promote you to CFO...I think you'd be great at it!

Hope everyone is doing well.

P.S. The kiss doesn't have to be w/your spouse, right? :) I'm just kidding! But my daughter and I do have a tradition of having a Disney kiss while on Dumbo flying high in front of the castle.

Here's a link to the anticipated article from The Boston Herald:
(It quotes both Erin and Laura, but -- since Laura is from Massachusetts -- she's the Panelist featured in the story.)

The site's "Media Center" also includes a short clip from a radio interview - along with a small photo gallery ("Disney Mom: Laura Spencer") located farther down the page. I don't know how long these will remain posted, though.

Thanks for the new links. Nice little blog article, with some good stories.

By the way, I wanted to let you all know that your feedback about the Mickey Moms Club, and the fact that the recent poll didn't work, was passed along to Disney, and may have been the reason that the issue got fixed. Way to go!!:thumbsup2

Hi all! I have been lurking here since my dear friends Bret and Erin hang out here. I decided to jump in and say hey! I'm Laura the chocolate Disney Mom!

As you can see, we are having so much fun and I am so joyful and honored to be able to talk about Disney and help so many people with their trip planning.

If you ask Bret, he can tell you it takes me awhile to even figure out how to get onto these kinds of boards. . . I'm techie challenged. Married to a tech wiz has not rubbed off on me. Hope you guys are enjoying the panel as much as we are working on it!

Very cool! Thanks for (officially) joining us. (And, welcome to the DISboards, Laura!) :)

Welcome Laura,

You can be the chocolate mom, we're the reject moms:lmao: Anyway, glad you can join us. Just couldn't stand it could ya!!! Hope everyone is doing okay, we have some sort of flu bug down here (sore throat, headache, etc...) lets just say two down and three to go!!! If I take any more vitamins my body won't know what to think.
FYI, the Disney Visa specials are out offering free ticket upgrades if you travel through May. I'd love to go, but we've already been to DL twice within the past 4 month and this month we must pay school tuition for next year. BUMMER!!

Hi Everybody~ Looks like the panel has been a huge success, you ladies (and gent) are doing a great job!

How do you feel now that you are a couple months into it? Has it been more/less demanding than you thought? Harder than it looks?

I was contacted to be profiled in the next Mickey Moms newsletter - so I guess they really did have some other ideas up their sleeves for us didnt-quite-make-it panelist wannabes! Keep an eye out for it ;)

Wow Karen! That's cool!

I still can't vote on that last email. Am I the only one?

That sounds very cool! :thumbsup2 Did they e-mail or phone you? 'Can't wait to see it! :)

Am I the only one?

I couldn't but then I tried opening the newsletter in a web browser and it worked (although it just dumps you at a "thanks for submitting" page with nothing else on it.

Did they e-mail or phone you?

I got an email from Leanne, and had a phone interview today with a media group company (not Disney, I think they produce the newsletter).

Oooh! That's so exciting! :goodvibes

Was there something in particular in your application essays that might have distinguished you from the others? [Without spoiling the upcoming newsletter profile for us...] Was there some sort of extra-special heartwarming story (or circumstances) that would merit a feature?

As you can see, I'm a bit too curious for my own good... :rolleyes1

I really am just assuming maybe that I was maybe #13 or 14 on the list of finalists???? So I guess they are just looking for another mom other than those on the panel and I happened to be next on the list? I really don't know, I was just me!

The questions were much like the essays (about you, your family, best tip etc). My "Mom" angle is that I relate to both SAHM's and working moms because I sorta do both. We have "stay at home kids" and my husband and I flex our schedules to make it work (although I'm guessing this isn't all that uncommon).I have weeks where my husband works days so I am the SAHM (and I know how darn hard that is)...then there are weeks where I work outside the home and know the challenges of being a working parent.

I am DVC and worked at the Hall of Presidents while in the college program years[ ago, But none of that was in my initial Mom's panel applications.
