Adventures of the "Moms" Panel

I know it doesn't mean much to those who don't have access, but you really aren't missing much at this point. There is very little content. On the front page, they point out that they are still in beta testing.

There's an archive the MMC newsletters ~ all 4 of them so far. There's a couple of videos from Emily the Travel Mom. There's a couple of Member Profiles, though I don't know where those come from since they aren't Panel members.

There are some downloads for kids...drawing pages, etc. Stuff that looks like it came from the newsletters.

That's about it at this point. I imagine once they work the kinks out and beef up the content, they'll open it up.

I just checked out the new site and it is great! Anything that gives me more access to Mickey is wonderful, no matter what stage it is in. If you are having trouble signing in maybe send a note to the address at the bottom of the page. It can't hurt. If you received the original package they should have your info on file.

Quoting from the August issue of the Mickey Moms newsletter:

"Starting September 8th, visit www.disneyworldmoms.com/2009 to submit your application. And – if you know of other moms who want to join the Mickey Moms Club, this is their chance too. Everyone who submits an application for the 2009 Walt Disney World Moms panel will be invited to join the Mickey Moms Club. Good luck, Mickey Moms!"

Some of Disney's announcements for the 2009 contest specifically state that you will become part of the Mickey Moms Club just by entering the contest.

I'm very sad. I was in Mickey Moms Club - received my packet and some of the newsletters. I'm not sure when they stopped coming, but I realized several months ago that it had been awhile.

Today, a friend (who posts on this thread) forwarded the email to me and when I tried to log in, here's the message I got:

"Mickey Moms Club Members Only!
Sorry, you've reached the members-only Mickey Moms Club. Entry is restricted to members who qualified through application for the Walt Disney World® Moms Panel. Though new membership is currently closed, registration will open to the public in the future. Stay tuned!

Meanwhile, you have successfully logged in to Walt Disney World."

I'm really sorry to hear about your situation. (That would be maddening...)

It is cool, though, that when Disney calls it an exclusive, members-only club, it's not just talk. (...Kind of increases the appeal. KWIM?)

In fact, the situation sort of reminds me of the limited-edition releases of Disney's animated classics. (I tend to find myself scrambling to purchase the latest before it disappears back into the vault .... [almost] forever! Why? Because I've been "burned" before. I'm still patiently awaiting the re-release of Snow White and Beauty and the Beast.)

Marketing genius! It's sooo good, it's almost bad, if that makes any sense!

Seems likely to me. I had been contacted about being profiled on the new site, but they decided to use me in the last newsletter instead....

For anyone who didn't receive a Mickey Moms Club email at the email account they used when they applied to the panel over the last 2 years:

Is it possible that your personal email account is blocking the email or sending it directly to a spam or junk folder? I noticed this fine print at the bottom of the Mickey Moms Club email:
"To ensure the delivery of emails concerning Disney Destinations, LLC to your inbox, please take a moment to add disneydestinations@registration.disneyworld.com to your email address book or safe list."

I agree, I thought when I got the moms club email about the site it would have something new...like a place for discussion or something!

If I recall correctly, I think it was Diane (PartyOf5). Forgive me if I'm getting the details wrong...

As for a discussion board: I think it's a great idea, because it has the potential to keep the "Moms" coming back for more on a regular basis. A chat room is dynamic and one thing that could offer current, relevant insights and info each day.

We'll see... Disney did say the project isn't finished! We're in the Beta testing phase.

Edited to Add: The Mickey Moms Club site might be a great venue for "bloggy"-type entries and short trip reports, too!
