I just read "I'll Love You Forever" to my big 5 year old and cried as I was putting him to bed, and then came out here to find the lovely picture of beautiful Evan and teared up again. Makes me want another, but that is not to be. Also makes me appreciate mine even more... Thanks for sharing ladies, and for understanding sometimes we have to cry "tears of love". :flower3:

Jennifer - congratulations on your beautiful baby Evan. He is simply adorable!!!:goodvibes

Erin - loved the article!

And how exciting for all the Moms that you may well have a role into the future!!!

Looking forward to hopefully meeting some of you soon!;)

As of this time tomorrow, I'll be checked into the Poly, having Dinner at Brown Derby, then over to enjoy Wishes, and finally onto the Adventure's Club and Pleasure Island! Y-I-P-P-E-E!!!!

Hi everyone! Here is a picture of Evan, already 1 week old.
100_2324.jpg

Poor thing already scratched his face.

Hi Jennifer!
Evan is such a beautiful baby! He looks SO cute in that little outfit. I bet that Mickey can't wait to meet him. I hope you are feeling well and trying to catch some zzzzs! Thanks for posting the picture!

Congrats on that precious little baby! He sure is handsome!

I'm also incredibly thrilled to hear that the original mom's panel will be honored in a way in which they deserve! The problem occurred to me and I wondered what Disney would do. I knew there was no way they'd be tossed out like yesterday's garbage~ so I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one this thought occurred to.

For those of you with impending trips....may I say I'm green with envy???? ok, maybe a little...but I'm mostly so excited for you! I love living vicariously through all my Dis pals' trips!

This self proclaimed English and Grammar queen (that would be my AP Comp and Lang professor from about 11 years ago) gave me a public lashing for using the same phrase, "her and her friends" to be exact. After a 10 minute rant on how incorrect that was and why that was so, I was left with a forever impression of, "she and her friends" on my mind. I will never remember why it is wrong, just that it is wrong. It won't show up as incorrect grammar in MS Word that I have ever seen but, far be it from me to ever do it again and risk Junior class humiliation flashbacks!! Anyway, that is why (or so I have been led to believe) after making a long story not so short. Sorry for the original rant.

:lmao: The things that stick with us! Too funny!

Well, I leave tomorrow too:) Just a quick Ladies Only 3 night getaway for me:) Happy with that, trust me!
Going to MNSSHP for the first time, ADR's at LTT and Jiko...and , oh, hmm, what is that little thing going on at Epcot now????

Oh yeah, Food and Wine:) lol

I cant even imagine what PI will be like!!!

I'm also SO jealous of everyone going on their fabulous trips!!! It sounds like a great time. I was just there one year ago now and it feels like forever. I can't wait to hear how it goes and see all your pics!

Thanks everyone for your kind words. Evan is a sweetie and he is keeping me busy during this waiting period for round 2.

Ummm...I was just there last month at it feels like forever! LOL

And lucky for all of us, Scoopy will be on the case. I wonder if she left...she hasn't checked in lately. Anyway, I look forward to all the scoops and hopefully a few pics!

Enjoy your trips everyone!

Thanks:) I am looking forward to "adult" time:) I did survive TS Fay with DD2 last month, lost count of how many ponchos we went through...lol...However, we had the best time ever one morning at MK:) Walked onto every ride/attraction..and she learned the Chicken Dance with a Dreams person as we had lunch at Pinnochio's...while waving to all the folks on Its a Small World...that was a great moment!

Hello- it is gorgeous down here in south Louisiana!!

The Hidden Mickey's Guide is my favorite! We bring it on all our trips to the World! Its so fun to look at while in a long line, or waiting for a show to start. We've even used it around the resort to "hunt up" some Mickey's.

But, mostly, I love it because its gotten us to stop and notice the details all the more! In fact, our family tradition is -- whoever spots the first hidden Mickey of the day gets to pick the first ride at whatever park we are visiting the next morning!

You can check out the website for it as well - http://hiddenmickeysguide.com/

Someday, that will be my dream job - spotting hidden mickeys! (well, second dream job - behind the Mom's Panel of course!)

Walt Disney World 2009 (Birnbaum's Walt Disney World)

I actually have all of those except the second to last one. I love the Birnbaum books because I know they will the be accurate since they are the "official guide" endorsed by Disney. THey have great pics and descriptions. I have ordered my 2009 copy, but in my 2008 copy, I love the section that gives plans of how to spend full or half days at each of the parks. NOt sure yet if it will be included in the 2009 one or not:confused3

I also love the Hidden Mickey books. It is a fun way to spend time waiting in lines. Sometimes, while one of us waits with our spot for parades, the others will go and look for Hidden Mickeys.

The Disney trivia books are fun to discuss/quiz each other while waiting in long lines or waiting for parades, etc.

THe Unofficial Guide is sooooo good. I actually just bought my 2009 copy the other day. It is FILLED with more info than you can imagine. It gives good and bad comments about most stuff. I also like the touring plans in the back!!!:thumbsup2

I hope my review helps. I also have the "Imagineers Guides to the Magic Kingdom" and "Animal Kingdom" They are just neat little books to learn more about how they come up with stuff from the Imagineers standpoint. They are actually written by them!

Take care and enjoy your books.

Awesome!! I actually saw a family with it last week at Epcot and thought "what fun!" I have only spotted 4 in dozens of trips. I am super excited. And what a great idea to turn it into a little friendly family competition.
Dream Job #1 - Mom's Panel
Dream Job #2 - placing NEW Hidden Mickey's...lol

Hmm, I don't think I could place them - I'd put too many of them up! I even get carried away at home -- do you know how many you can fit on a pepperoni pizza ??? :rotfl:

If you stay at Disney resorts, a lot of times you can get "Hidden Mickey Hunts" from the front desk - we've done this at Wilderness Lodge and Animal Kingdom Lodge. Great for a rainy evening (or just if Mom wants to relax next to the fire and have an adult beverage!) :)

I knew I had come to the right place. Now I can justify spending $70 on Disney books to DH...LOL. I wasn't sure about the Imagineers guide because I read a review on Amazon that they were written in engineering jargon?? I cannot wait for my books to get here. Ugh - 2 weeks

I have the EPCOT version and I LOVED using it on our Feb trip. We spent lots of time at EPCOT and it was fun pointing things out to my family!

I would like to get the other ones before our next trip-or maybe one at a time!

I am going to be looking for the unofficial guide for '09 this week!

We did the one at Wilderness Lodge on our honeymoon, lots of fun, but hard!

I love the idea of Mom sitting by the fire with an adult beverage while the others hunt!!!!!:thumbsup2

PassPorter's Treasure Hunts at Walt Disney World (PassPorter)
It's packed with lots of specific information and is nicely organized by topic and question level. The format is fun.
The Walt Disney World Trivia Book: Secrets, History & Fun Facts Behind the Magic
The Walt Disney World Trivia Book, Volume 2: More Secrets, History & Fun Facts Behind the Magic
I love both of Lou's books. They both seperate the questions from the answers. My favorite part is that both of them have an extensive index. This is especially useful when you are looking for the page number on which you can find some specific detail.
Hidden Mickeys, 3rd Edition: A Field Guide to Walt Disney World's Best-Kept Secrets (Hidden Mickeys: A Field Guide to Walt Disney World's Best Kept Se
I bring this book with me to WDW. (not sure which edition I have) I am always looking for hidden Mickeys, but I must admit that I do find a lot more hidden Mickeys when I use this book. The ones that I just happen to find on my own mean the most, but it's nice to have the ability to know where to look for them.
01 Things You Never Knew About Walt Disney World: An Unauthorized Look at Tributes, Little Touches, And Inside Jokes
I have this 101 Things... book. It does have some interesting information in it, but it isn't smooth reading material. Every page lists facts with a "Furthermore" section. If I didn't have an unquenchable thirst for Disney-related information, I think that this author's writing style would have prevented me from reading this whole book-and it's only about 100 pages long!
The Unofficial Guide Walt Disney World 2009 (Unofficial Guides)
I have a bunch of these. I love Bob Sehlinger's writing style and humor. I like that he includes so many details, tips and insights.

Walt Disney World 2009 (Birnbaum's Walt Disney World)
I don't have these, but I have an older one with "for Kids" in the title. My kids like to hold and touch the pictures found in this book. However, I believe that all of the information found in this book can be found on the WDW website for free.

But, you know what my favorite book is? It's How to be like Walt by Pat Williams. I think I have read it at least 10 times. You might want to consider getting this book! It is inspiring!

You mentioned the Imagineering books. (I don't think the MGM one has been written yet.) I like them and do not think they are filled with engineering jargon, as you mentioned you saw written somewhere. These books are keepers! Happy reading!
