For part one, go here!

Cast of “Characters”

Me (Moxie) – 24, second (well third, but I don’t count the first) trip to WDW
Dexter (or Dex) – 25, 13th trip to WDW
CR – Ageless, Dexter’s father, 16th trip to WDW
Dee – Also ageless, Dexter’s mum, 16th trip to WDW
Uncle Joe - ??, Dex's uncle in Orlando for a convention

We arose early out of our comfy Coronado Springs bed with one mission in mind: to obtain the Mouse Lord of the Sith. After reading the boards I knew there was a chance that they were sold out, but I still held out hope that they had kept some behind for each weekend. Dex went and bought our refillable mugs while I was getting ready and we learned the disappointing fate that it seems as though most resorts are phasing out the skinny mugs. Disappointing to us in that we use our Mara (AKL) skinny mug every day to take coffee to work and the fat mugs just don’t seem to fit into car cupholders.

We arrived at MGM just in time to hear the whistle letting people into the park. It was only about 8:45am, so they were letting in people early. We were quickly sectioned off into three groups: Regular park go-ers, SWW autograph seekers, and SWW collectable merchandise seekers. Dex and I, as well as the rest of the merch collectors, were whisked down to a line that came out of the Indiana Jones store where the limited edition merchandise was being held to prevent long lines at Tatooine Traders. About twenty minutes into standing in line we learned about the online fate of the Darth Mickey, but we stayed anyway to get some collectable pins.

Then we were off to MK! I was so excited; a Disney trip just isn’t really a Disney trip until you see the castle. We walked down Mainstreet, looking at the Castle in all its splendor, me all tearing up and Dex snapping off the pictures before heading towards Tomorrowland. We grabbed Fast Passes for Stitch’s Great Escape and headed to Space Mountain. The wait time said 45 min, but it only took us 25 min from line start to getting off the ride. That was about on par with how all our stand by lines went. We had some time to kill before getting on Stitch, so we got Fast Passes for Buzz and went into Merchant of Venus and bought ponchos. The CM there tried to talk us out of them, saying it wasn’t supposed to rain, but we knew better. Better safe than sorry! So with my poncho, and Fast Passes for Buzz, which I was so excited about doing again, plus my bubbling over excitement about Stitch (whom I love) and I was giddy like a small child in.. well… Disney World!!

No spoilers on Stitch, but… after the ride both Dex and I looked at each other:

Dex: Well, what did you think?
Moxie: (look of pure shock/horror) That was horrible.
Dex: Yeah. Yeah, it was.
Moxie: That was the worst ride I’ve ever been on.
Dex: Alien Encounter was so much better.

I tried not to believe the reports, but they were true: Stitch’s Great Escape sucks. The only saving grace is the voice over by my beloved Pleakley. But no time to be disappointed, I’ve got to beat Dex’s butt in Buzz’s Space Ranger Spin!!

Uhh. Or not. I still maintain that the firing button on my blaster kept sticking. Honestly.

No bother, it’s still so much fun! We decided to say good-bye to Tomorrowland since it wasn’t getting any less crowded and head to Toon Town. Who do we happen to spot on our way but the Queen of Hearts!! I am a massive Alice and Wonderland fan (both Disney and non-Disney) and both Dex and I are “character hunters” so we paused our journey for a picture. I really love how the Queen is so mean to the poor children and banishes them away after a photo. It’s really fun. Knowing Alice so well I approached the queen with a wide courtesy and said “Your majesty”. Well the Queen just turned into sugar and was so nice!

Toon Town was no less crowded than Tomorrow Land. In fact, we waited in line in the same spot in the Town Fair Hall character line for 25 minutes before calling it a day and stepping out. We were hungry so we stopped by Cosmic Ray’s to split a chicken fingers meal. I noticed a lot of people in line (including the gentleman in front of me) having difficulty with the dining plan. I’m not sure what it was exactly, but it made me glad I was paying with cash.

After dinner we went into Fantasyland by way of the side path behind the castle. I realized I’d never walked that way and had never seen the Wishing Well before. It was so beautiful and Dex gave me a coin to make a wish. I knew mine instantly and tossed my coin into the fountain. Dex took a really long time with his; his eyes shut tight and gripping his coin. It made me wonder what he was wishing for, but I knew I couldn’t ask. After all: if you tell a wish it won’t come true!

We wandered around a bit before our ADR’s at Cinderella’s Royal Table for dinner. Forgive me Mickey for I think we broke the first rule of ADR’s: we checked in without our entire party present. This lead to Dex running around Main Street looking for CR, Dee, and Uncle Joe who had hopped from Epcot. What made me even more panicked is that they closed off the castle for Cinderellabration so they would all have to walk around! But eventually everyone was found and we were escorted up to our table. Dinner was lovely and so very yummy. The prime rib was amazing!! Sadly, I didn’t get to try the slipper as I hate white chocolate and the dark chocolate one was unavailable.

After dinner we headed into Adventureland and literally walked right on to Pirates. We didn’t even have to wait for a boat! It was awesome! We then did BTMRR before heading back to Main Street for Wishes. It was really early to be heading back for Wishes, but all I wanted to see was Tink fly. I had seen Wishes on our last trip, but from a Grand Gathering’s boat and so I didn’t see Tink.

We got floats from the ice cream parlor and sat at the patio tables outside watching nightfall and the lights change on the castle. It was just stunning. We finished just as Spectro was about to star and Dex asked if I’d like to watch it, as I hadn’t seen it before. We quickly found an empty space under the rope and I was in awe. Spectromagic was the most beautiful thing I’d ever seen. I loved the music and the lights. I got so excited seeing Ariel, and the Good Faires, and Alice!! It was so overwhelming I couldn’t help myself: after the parade ended we went to our Wishes viewing spot and I burst into great, heaving, sobbing tears. Dex couldn’t figure out what was wrong with me!! How could I be crying in the Happiest Place on Earth? Truth was, I was crying BECAUSE I was at the Happiest Place on Earth. I felt so happy, so loved, so blessed to be there. It was magical!

Wishes soon came and sadly, Tink didn’t fly. But we still had more nights to see her. And in a fashion that only Disney can master, the second the last firework hit for Wishes the rain came pouring down. Thank God for those ponchos!!

Tomorrow: MGM, and Star Wars WEEKENDS!!!

Not at all! Great reports so far - can't wait for the rest!

On our last day we went to see Tarzan Rocks at the Animal Kingdom. It's our favorite and we saw it twice. We heard they might be doing away with it.
Well, as we left the second show, my throat closed and I couldn't speak. :sad1:

It was a combination of that song "You'll be in My Heart" - it gets me every time; knowing we were going home that day, and the thought that our favorite show might not be there the next time.

Disney can really overwhelm you with emotion. That's the magic!! :wizard:

Isn't it great!? :wave2:
