Just some comments. I have only been on the disboards for ~ a month so I am sure I only have a limited snapshot.

I was initially shocked when I saw a person looking for points on their terms stating price, contract and escrow conditions. Since they did not post again I presume they got what the wanted. Shows me who maybe calls the shots

I was very surprised to see people asking for cheap points when I thought the going price was allready a bargain. It almost sounded like they were doing the owners a favor. I guess cheap ponts is another entitlement to renters.

Tips on how tough/easy it is pool hop without really staying at the resort. I really enjoyed how the one poster was asking how tough the badge checks were at one of the resort pools. Additional ways to beat the system are also included to renters as a buying bonus.

I liked the tip of renting points for S-Th and checking into an off site resort near universal for the weekend only to come back for the following S-Th. A very good way to take 2 weeks of the disney books at a barebone price. I would have never thought of that.

I found out that the owners and not the renters are responsible for any room damage. Makes me really want to take extra special care of the room. I guess no credit card required at check in could considered another bonus

You need a DVC forum strickly for DVC members but maybe the secrets are allready all out in public domain.

Interesting....at first, I assumed you were a troll. Then, I read your other posts....you tried to buy and got ROFR'd. Now, it seems you have come to a new "understanding" of a bargain, and that your comments....though involving sarcasm, are actually sincere.

I only have one thing to say to you....you are very smart!! ;)

There will always be a few rotten apples in the barrel even among DVC members and even among those that use these forums. Hopefully they are the minority.

If it will make you feel any better though about the scammers, Disney reads these forums too. And many of their counter measures to prevent scamming were probably formulated from info gained thru reading Internet forums. So when someone comes to the Net and brags about what they get away with, it might only be a matter of time before that loophole is closed.

As to renting, I don't do it. I realize it is the right of any member to do so. I do not want to be responsible for the possible damages or charges let behind by anyone I do not personally know. Too big a risk for me to take. Besides we bought our points to use and never have any to rent anyway, too busy enjoying them ourselves.
