advantages of annual pass

are the AP can act like a park hopper without the fees for it. On any other park tickets you have to pay for this privelege. You can go to all 4 parks on the same day if you want to do it with an AP.

Although not guaranteed you could be able to do some special events and previews being an AP holder. There have been many times a new attraction would be opening up and you may get to be on the new attraction a day sooner then it opens up to the general public.

In the past you were able to get special pins, too.

I feel the main reason to get an AP is the free parking and taking more than one trip per year and doing park hopping. Everything else is gravy.

We have recently decided to go this route ourselves. I will be doing it for all of us this December. I'm still debating the TIW card; because, we will be off site with an included hot, good breakfast every morning and we will be driving; so, going to an off site restaurant would be fine for us. There are restaurant.com coupons and the entertainment book to make dining outside of Disney both enjoyable and very reasonable. There are coupon books for slight discounts on meals at the tourist bureaus, too.

I'm a believer in the Disney parks, but I have lost it for Disney resorts and Disney dining. I would only consider Disney on site with a free dining promo, now.

We love the AP's and TIW cards and they definitely save us money. We go three times a year when we get the AP"s, then wait a year then repeat it if we wish - we don't ever renew, because we like to skip awhile. We also like the freedom of going in the parks for a few hours or all day or whatever. We usually go for 10 days each time and pricing the 10 day Hopper is way more than what we pay. We do get it after so many years to get all the water park tickets to keep for later. We still have some on our last cards because we only tend to go once each trip. There are other perks, but those are our main ones.pixiedust:

A question about the waterparks. Do you get the Premium AP?
I am debating if this is the one we want. I only see my husband and son using a few water park options, maybe 6 total over the 3 trips?
So I don't know if it's worth it.

The difference between an AP and PAP is $130 adult or $120 child. Water Park tickets with the AP discount are about $45 adult or $37 child. But if you get the PAPs the water parks (and DQ) are included.

The other choice is spend more money now, and save in the long run by buying both a 10 Day No Expiration Water Park Fun and More ticket (with or without Park Hopper) and an annual pass. This will give you 10 visits to the water parks at any time, plus 10 days to the parks when you are doing short trips and don't have an annual pass. Tickets seem to only be going up in price.

No, we don't get the Premium AP. It has unlimited water parks, but only for the length of the AP. We get the basic AP with no water parks. We just get the 10 day hoppers every few years because it has so many water park days on it and we can use them until they're gone - even after all our Park tickets have long been used up. We get the non-expiration. We got the 10 day ones we have now several years ago and use them for the water parks when we go - we only use one usually on each trip so they last many years. The AP's are for the parks and the other perks and we buy them after we've used our 10 days of parks. You would barely break even, maybe, buying the PAP over the AP if that's all you use them( during the one year) for the water parks.
