advantage of MB vs Ticket?

I know with an annual pass or staying onsite, you get a MB free. I heard that if you want one other than that, there's a charge, but you can't put your credit card on it, like you can if staying onsite. What is the advantage of having one that you would purchase it? Doesn't your ticket do everything it does? Also, why do you get another ticket for discount on purchases & parking with AP magic band. If I need to carry a card anyway, wouldn't I just take my ticket? I assume I am missing something, so if someone could please let me know.

The only reason I can see is that you have the MB on your wrist, at the ready, when you approach an entry or a FP turnstile. You don't have to fish anything out of your wallet or pocket.

Also, some people think it looks cool

thank you for your reply. I just can't think of a reason someone would want to purchase one, except as you said they like the way it looks. I'm thinking when we go in August, it will be very sweaty & uncomfortable to wear.

I am hoping that we may still get a plastic card too! We arrive April 19th, and already received our bands in the mail. No one wants to wear them and sticking it in your pocket is more uncomfortable rather than a thin plastic card. Crossing my fingers!!!!

You won't be getting a plastic card too. Sorry. They did away with them for all resort guests, now just the magic bands. We didn't even get a card back in Nov. at Pop Century.

so for people that don't want to wear them or can't tolerate them , they just get stuffed into a pocket? Will be taking a small crossbody along so I will have a spot for them, was just hoping there was an alternate option. Thanks!
