Previous posters experience is irrelevent. Advantage was recently purchased (out of bankruptcy) by Hertz. I think it's being rolled into their Simply Wheelz brand.
I wouldn't hesitate to give them a shot.
Still looking for a good car rental for our upcoming trip in Oct. I found Advantage has a midsize SUV for $335/total (11 days) using code AAA. I've never rented from them before and was wondering what other's have experienced with them.
Thanks!
I do find other peoples experiences relevent and helpful in my making an informed decision. If a lot of people have experienced poor or substandard services, I really would think twice about using that particular company...especially since those people have no stake in whether my vacation is a success or not. I wouldn't have asked the question if I didn't want the feedback.
That said, I appreciate the information that Advantage was recently bought out by Hertz. I've used Hertz in the past (through priceline) and have had very good experiences with them. That makes me feel more positive about renting with Advantage.
Thank you.
Do you know the AAA code? I am an AAA member and I can't find the code
Sorry I wasn't clearer. JMO but the experience of any poster who rented prior to the purchase by Hertz is irrelevent. I think Hertz is "rolling" Advantage into their Simply Wheelz brand (they may be doing the reverse and rolling Simply Wheelz into Advantage). My point wasn't that experience of others is irrelevent but rather most of those experiences are prior to the new owner and is irrelevent
You might do a search for posters experience with Simply Wheelz.
Advantage rent a car didn't get great reviews under the previous owners.
It appears your former assessment is correct. It would explain why there is suddenly a Simply Wheelz in Las Vegas. Thanks for the information!Lewisc said:Sorry I wasn't clearer. The AAA code is just that...AAA. I think it is worth 5% off your rental.
Hertz is offsite, you take a shuttle bus. Does it really matter if the shuttle takes you the the Simply Wheelz lot or to the Advantage lot a couple of blocks away? Hertz decides they have too many rental locations and the shuttle will just take you somewhee else.Thank you for clarifying, and yes...you are probably correct. Does Orlando have a Simply Wheelz already (I thought they did). Do you think that it could pose a problem if they decide they have one too many rental counters?
Thank you.

Simply Wheelz is no longer showing a Orlando location. I guess Simply Wheelz is being rolled into Advantage.
No problem at all with where the shuttle takes me. Just would hate to have a ressie with company X who's associated with company Y and then have them decide there's too many companies and shut down X.
I'm sure that's a risk you take with anything in these times, but I'd hate to not get the car we need for our trip because they sold out of them at both locations...
