Is this true? Quote: "Also…keep in mind that most Disney reservations need to be paid in full 45 days prior to arrival."

I am going to WDW in November. Here are the list of restaurants I would like to go to: Chef Mickey (breakfast), Rainforest Café (Downtown Disney) (dinner), Akersus (breakfast), Les Chefs de France (lunch), Plaza Restaurant (lunch), Tony's Town Square (dinner).

In all of restaurants, there are only two that serve buffets. I can understand having to pay in advance - they know exactly how much it is going to cost... But what about the others?

Please help.

Claire

The 45 day advance payment is for vacation packages (room + tickets). A few restaurants take a credit card to secure your reservation, but even those do not require you to pay for your meal in advance (e.g., your card is not charged until you actually have your meal there or do not cancel within any prescribed time period).

The only one you have listed to my knowledge that will even take your CC for the ADR is Akersus and they'll just charge it if you're a no-show. Like the PP has said, the 45-day advance payment is for vacation packages reservations, not the reservations on restaurants :)

I'm pretty sure the only meals currently requiring payments in advance are the princess character meals at Cinderella's Royal Table and Akershus.

The others were correct about the 45 day quote. That only refers to hotel packages with room and tickets bundled in.

I know that California Grill keeps a credit card hold and won't charge you unless you don't cancel within 24 hours. They assess a per person penalty for no-shows.

Akershus only requires a CC hold. HDDR,CRT and the Polynesian Luau all require pre-payment

I can confirm that my credit card was charged for HDDR when I made the reservation, it wasn't just a hold.

If you're on the DDP, they're not supposed to charge your credit card, just use it for the hold, but I hear they make mistakes on that sometimes too.

My credit card was charged for our CRT reservation when we booked back in May. Then they credited my credit card once we paid our meal with the DDP at CRT.

I thought HDDR, CRT, and Luau were also holds because many people used the Dining Plan for those.

They may just do a hold.however it has been my experience using the Dp that they charge you and then refund when you show up.
