Yeh I'm thinking of waiting till I get there and getting the hat and whip from the Indiana Jones store at HS. I'll see if they have a matching gun and if so I'll get it and if not then not a big deal

My brother went as Captain Mal Reynolds from firefly one year and we ended up buying the gun in the parks just to be safe.

DD is going as Elsa, I'm remaking an old dance costume into a dress. I keep ripping it apart because I'm just not happy with it.

My son (2 1/2) will be going as Mike, and husband will be Sulley. I have the perfect Tinkerbell dress but I'm debating if I should be Boo so we can all match.

Definitely try and dress for comfort.

Love the pics! i want to go as mermaid Ariel because my hair is currently red. I was thinking a bikini top (victorias secret unforgettable demi has the right purple shade) and either mermaid print leggings or circle skirt. But, I really am trying to not show too much skin with kids around! Ariel is a tricky one!

I would also love a flounder kids stuffed purse! Very hard to find though

You will definitely have to wear something other than a bikini top. Even the park Ariel wears a half tank.

She just has a fuller bikini top on. I found one in a similar shape that does not cut down low in the middle and was thinking of ordering one size up (I am certainly not considering a triangle top or something). I would of course have to try it first. I also found a mermaid print high-waisted circle skirt that goes above the navel and natural waist, so it actually is higher than her tail to cover up the midriff more.

My daughter is going as Auora in part pink and part blue dress. I will be going as Flora and my sister will be going as Merryweather. We will be wearing tutus, t-shirts, wings, hats, and wands. If the weather is cold we can wear long sleeve shirts and pants under the tutus instead of shorts. We will be attending the Oct. 31st party. This is our first MNSSHP and we are so excited.

we love mnsshp. We dress up almost every time we go. We have been a few different things. Here are a few. The monorail family and miss piggy and kermit the frog. It was a lot of fun

Park Ariel defintely only has seashells on unless it's colder and her "winter wear" is on, then she's got a skin coloured shirt to go under the shells & the choice of a little shawl thing.

In response to both, I've seen plenty of Jasmines, Ariel's & even "slave" Jasmine's out in the parks for mnsshp. And a slave leia outfit for SWW, as long as you're comfortable, you'll be fine. I'd make sure you're not spilling out over the top, but as for midriff showing, you're fine.

Half tank was the closest way I could think of to describe it. There is more material to what she wears than just a typical bra. There is coverage under the shells and between them. The shells are also molded plastic, not just bra material. A lot of work would need to go into turning a regular bra into appropriate, acceptable park attire.

Thanks! I completely forgot about Leia! I already own this swimsuit in a different color and it for sure doesn't even come close to that costume. I am very petite and it is made from a thick molded foam material so no worries there. I will have a crossbody strap too. After I found that flounder purses are $150 on ebay I think I have decided to buy a stuffed flounder, gut him like a fish (ba dum bah!) buy material for a strap from Joann fabrics and make my own!
