Finally finished DD's Mystique costume, so thought I'd post. Didn't have time to dry run all three of us yet; I'll try to get a pic of my Gamora and DS's Cap America this week. Thought this turned out pretty cool.

Thanks!! Really need to squeeze in a makeup check this week! Sooooo hoping the rain is gone before our party. Don't know how big a mess we'll have if we get wet!

if you get a spray on sealer it makes the makeup water proof to a degree, but makes it tons harder to get off since you then can't use water to get it off.

I got barrier spray (cuz I sweat like a pig LOL) and setting powder. Could I do a top coat of the barrier spray, or is the sealer different? I bought three different kinds of remover, after "the Darth Maul incident." (The poor Mousekeepers probably thought they'd walked in on a crime scene )

if i remember right barrier spray goes on before the make up, i'm just doing a extra coat to do the same thing. The sealer goes on last but setting powder i heard can be just as good. Since i'm doing my hands i'm going all out on making sure its not coming off until i want it too. Don't want CMs to freak out when i'm handling things in the shops. I'm less worried about sweating the makeup off then rubbing it off on other things.

Kinda scared to ask about what the darth maul incident was...

You can do barrier spray both before and after to help seal. I have done Jack Skellington-type white and black makeup with my Mad Hatter costume and I used barrier spray first, then powder after, topped with a final coat of barrier spray. It lasted for hours and didn't rub off.

Also in a pinch if you don't have barrier spray on hand you can use hairspray as a dealer, just be careful around the eyes.

We are going to MHP in DL this year. DD is a fairy, who is dressed in mostly green, so she says she's Tink, but she's really not Tink (although she definitely has Tink's personality)

DH and I are donning Steampunk costumes... My costume is pretty much ready to go, but I still need to make the spats and pants for my DH. His vest is made with fake dragon hide, and it was a bit of a pain to sew , but it looks pretty cool!

I was about to post a question about whether folks did Steampunk costumes for MNSSHP! I made a "steampunk beachcomber" costume for a convention and would love to wear it again. One of my little props/specimens is a miniature Nautilus sub (20,000 Leagues), and now I'm thinking I could add some other Disney-fied touches

Just finished making our Halloween costumes. Going as Johnny Fedora & Alice Blue Bonnet! I'm hoping at least a few people know who we are!

Were you guys at the party on the 28? If so, I saw you guys! I tried to catch you before you left my store but I wasn't able to. The hats looked great in person!

Oh my gosh!!! That's hysterical!!!! So glad you were able to get a pic together!!! Did the CMs love them?? How did your tapstyle hold up? Awesome idea.

I've been checking the weather forecast for the 10/5 party and right now Weather.com says high 79/ low 57 with a 0% chance of rain! Ideal! Hope it holds!

If it is going to be cooler that day we may be bringing our Alice/Hatter costumes instead of Ralph/Vanellope. Decisions, decisions

The costumes and tapstyle were a huge hit. We stopped often for both guest and CM interaction. The fact that I could make it chase-to-green and chase-to-blue was a real crowd-pleaser. Just after the second parade a CM came up to us and said she was told by her boss to find us and get a picture. Other CMs told us that they had heard about us during the night and were hoping they would get to see us in person.

We lucked out with the rain. I felt a few drops just as I stepped into the covered portion of the HM queue. Less than 10 seconds later it was a deluge. I'm not sure it would have survived if I had gotten caught in that.

At least two of the bands will be making an appearance at the MNSSHP on Halloween night. We are flying down for that weekend and our kids need to decide if they want to go as MagicBands or not.
