Adults going to a character breakfast!

I took my 69 year old mother to CRT when we were there in Feb. This was the first time that we've done the Dining Plan so our whole family that consisted of adults did a lot of character meals. It was just my mom and I that went to CRT together and she said it was a memory that would last a lifetime. I was so glad that she and I got to share that together. She told everyone that her daughter was "pampering" her for the morning. LOL She had to have picture made with our waiter before we left. We had our pics taken with all of the princesses and even brought home a magic wand!:wizard: Then mom, three daughters, one son-in-law and one adult grand-daughter went to Chef Mickey's and had a magical b-fast with all of the characters. Finally Mom and just the three daughters went to Tusker House for b-fast with the characters. At Disney everyone is a child at heart...even a 69 year old!:yay:

My DH loves buffets and I love the characters! Last trip we did Chef Mickey's for breakfast and 1900 Park Faire for dinner. This year my DS and DDIL are joining us and DDIL doesn't want to do any character meals so DH and I are going to Crystal Palace for breakfast by ourselves. We can't go to WDW without at least one character meal.

Go and have a great time. Remember to use the photos for your Christmas cards this year so the family can say - OH NO!!!! They've been back to Disney World AGAIN!!!!!!!! :santa:

Characters do interact with adults!! Last time my family came to see me(mom, dad, brother, aunt, uncle, and cousins!! All adults) We ate at 1900 Park Fare and all of the characters interacted with us!! My family loved it,even though I work here I still enjoy it too!!! I always go to see the characters when the mood strikes me, I even went to see the fairies!! The looks I got from others were priceless!!

My DH and I went for our 30th anniversary, (1st time no kids) and had a wonderful time at the character meals. It was noted on our ADRs that it was our anniversary. Our first evening was at CP and this is what they did for us.

The characters all came by and pointed to the heart. Piglet put her hands to her mouth and blew us kisses. We also did CRT for dinner and had a wonderful time.

Go for it. I tell everyone I never grew up and will never grow up....:goodvibes

Hi Everyone!

As many times as I've been to Disney, this is our 1st trip with no kids. I was wondering, do adults get to interact at the Supercalifragilistic Breakfast? :confused3 I know its' mainly for children, but this is my DP's first trip and I want her to have the FULL treatment!! Thanks ahead for any tips!! ;)

Chris

Go for it! My husband and I are childfree and we did the breakfast at 1900 Park Fare many times over the years. Go and enjoy.

DH and I did 2 character breakfasts on our last trip - Crystal Palace and 1900 Park Fair. Both were great breakfasts, and I would do either of them in a heartbeat! Have fun, and have a great time!!

Um, my next trip is with two 50 somethings, and four in our early to mid 20's and we're without a doubt doing a character breakfast! I've been on so many trips (with every trip having a character breakfast) and we're always a group of 4-6 adults. We wouldn't miss our character breakfasts for anything. :cool1:

DH and I are in our late 20s and we always do character meals! Our favorites are Crystal Palace and Chef Mickey's. The characters always stop for photos and to "talk" with us. We have a great time and no one has ever said anything. We see tons of other adult couples at the character meals! Go and have fun!

I went with a friend a couple of years ago and we had a great time at the character meals. We both wanted pictures with the characters and this was so much better than waiting in the lines. Go, and have fun, reality will be waiting for you when you get home.;)

My wife loves doing character meals. I never know what to say to the characters though! We're doing 1900 Park Fare this trip, so I just have to figure out what sort of conversations (that don't sound like: "Hi how are you? how's life? where's the cheshire cat? having fun?") I want to strike up with Alice, Mary, and the Hatter. I don't like to think of myself as socially awkward, but that sure comes out when I'm around characters at WDW!

Buy yourselves an autograph book, because the characters will spend more time to stop and chat with you while they are signing the book. That will give you (and them) more time to think of something to say.

I don't think anyone is too old for this unless they think they are. I have seen heart-warming situations where a senior rises from the table to hug the character, their face lit up, and they start to gush about how much they changed their lives when they were a kid... :sad1::flower3:

It's magical.

As with age, there isn't a requirement to be nostalgic.

My fiance and I love the Disney character meals. I will share what happened to us. On his birthday, he requested a reservation at Cinderella's Royal Table in the castle for Lunch and 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian for Dinner. These are fun restaurants, but this particular dinner was quite unusual.

It turned out that a group of 100+ cheerleaders canceled their dinner at Park Fare on our night--a freak occurrence according to our hostess... A total of 30 diners or less had the characters, Cinderella, Prince Charming, Anastasia, Drizella, Lady Tremaine (and the buffet) to ourselves the entire night! The characters came out to talk and play multiple times. At one point, all of the diners stood in the middle of the restaurant for group photo-ops, and with Anastasia and Drizella involved, that's like taking crazy family portraits.

Needless to say, we had the best time with the characters, and my fiance said that it was one of his most memorable birthdays. I've heard that the Mad Hatter is equally as funny and interactive as Anastasia and Drizella.

Have fun with the characters. You don't have to ask them about details relating to their movies if you don't want to. You can even just tell them something about yourself (e.g., your occupation, your hometown), or wear something interesting (e.g., perhaps with them on it), and they will run with it.

yes they do and you would love the 1900 park fare cinderella galla feast dinner...wicked step mother and step sisters are there they are a hoot great character interaction with alot of entertainment, along with Cinderella and the Prince, this was my parents (60)favorite character buffet and we did them all :)
