Adult Pool ?

Read alot of post about Mickey & Goofy pool problems, wondering about the adult pool. What are its good points, bad points? Crowded? Any info appreciated, Thanks MKY!

Adult pool was hardly ever even occupied! There were people in the whirlpools, but only saw more than 2 adults in the pool, maybe one time?

Good aspects - QUIET! uncrowded, bar was right there
Bad aspects - the water was a bit cold, and for some reason, the showers (for rinsing off) were REALLY hot.

We were at the adult pool a few times last week and tehre was never more than 4 poeple in there with us at any given time! It was very nice, the water was 81 degrees so it wasn't to cold.

The adult pool is great. Not crowded, a bit chilly at first, very quiet and peaceful...you couldn't get me to set foot into that goofy pool with all of the people and the nasty color of the water...couldn't hardly see the bottom...we just cruised on the May 8th trip.

Another question about the adult pool from a newbie. Adult means 18 and up, right? Would my 16 year old DD be able to acompany me for some quiet pool time away from the kiddies, or is she stuck with the noisy Goofy pool? Just asking, we wouldn't do it if she's not welcome.

Its for 18 and over only... sorry. She may not want to deal with all the kids in the goofy pool either though....at least she can swim at castaway cay

I imagined it would be bigger? It looks very narrow!

We will be on one of the special west coast cruises, so no cc for her, too bad, it sounds wonderful. Guess she'll just have to deal with the kiddies.

while the area on deck 9 around the adult pool is restricted to 18 and above, she could join you on deck 10 overlooking the adult pool. Just make sure you do it when you are not looking for shade - not much available.

Unfortunately cruise ships in general do not have very large pools but the Adult pool is bigger than it looks in the pic.

Now....this is the smallest pool ever seen.....it is the crew pool!!! Once it had to be used for passengers as there was a problem with regular pool.

Also....CM's do monitor the adult pool and will ask people to leave the area if they are not 18. Since drydock DCL has put up a frosted glass partition on one side of Deck 9 that separates the adult pool area area from the rest of the ship....you can walk through but it definately mentions that is now an adult area.

If the adult pool is so sparsely occupied, why is it (according to Passporter) the biggest pool? Seems to me that the family pool ought to be the biggest pool, seeing that this a DISNEY cruise will naturally attract a lot of families.

I just want to make sure I get this straight......no children under age 18 are permitted in the adult pool or the surrounding deck.

If my husband is relaxing on a lounge chair and I have the kids in the family pool, would we be able to go meet him then switch off--cannot leave the kids unattended in their pool?

I am sorry if this is a silly question I am just trying to understand and I certainly would not want to break any rules!!!

We walked through the adult pool area on our way to the Mickey pool I am sure you could go there and have him get up and take them back because if you came up theelevators you have to walk through that area anyway to get to the kids area. Or you could just tell him to meet you by the family pool in an hour and switch off there.

Anyone can walk through that area on the surrounding deck....that is not off limits at all. I think the sign is just meant to alert people that you are in an adult only area....as the other poster said....you need to walk through on Deck 9 to get to elevators and such.

There should be no problem with someone wanting to switch off with the kids. They just don't allow under 18's to hang out at the adult pool area.

sters - It looks like that picture was taken very early in the morning. It will be more crowded as the day wears on. The ship has 4 pools, 2 designated for use by everyone. 1 adults only. 1 for crew members.

Human life forms under the age of 18 are not allowed anywhere in the area of the pool - even walking through is not supposed to happen. (note the signs as you enter the area that say things like "No one under 18 allowed beyond this point" Not sure why someone would feel that walking through an area with such a sign would think it's ok.

We love the fact that kids of all ages are on the ship! Wouldn't go anywhere else but on Disney! But it's also wonderful to have a few areas on the ship that are truly for adults...

The adult pool was one of my favorite places on the ship! After hanging out at the Mickey pool and the Goofy pool with my kids, it was so nice to spend time in the tranquility at the adult pool! The pool is kind of small, but what I liked best was sitting on the edge and letting the waves wash over me.

Unfortunately, my 12yo dd couldn't join me at the adult pool. She didn't like the crowded Goofy pool and the Mickey pool was just too shallow for her. The only time she got a chance to swim on the ship was one evening when the Goofy pool was pretty empty. It's too bad the other pools get so crowded!

Boy, I didn't think this would be such a hot topic. Thanks for the info guys. We certainly won't be breaking any rules about adult only area (I value my adult time also). It's just sounds like the Goofy pool is a zoo, except for very early or very late in the day, not the best times for laying by the pool to work on your tan. It's too bad there isn't a place for the older teens who want a quiet spot, as the kids can be just as anoying for them as for us. I guess we will park ourselves on deck 10 and treck down to 9 for an ocasional dip in the family pool when we get too hot, no biggie.

We also loved the adult pool & wished we'd spent more time there! Next time we'll spend our nassau day on the ship! We loved sitting in the super shallow part of the pool & getting sun but not frying! On the first day when the goofy pool was closed for the deck party there was a family with 2 kids in the adult pool. Not that I don't like kids-- I do-- but they were doing cannon balls into the pool. The bartender that was making our drinks motioned to a CM & the CM went over to the family & told them that it was for adults only & they were welcome to use the other 2 pools. The mother argued that the mickey pool (the only one open for the moment) was just a wading pool & her daughter wanted to swim. He apologized and they looked annoyed, but they left. Another time I saw a family doing the same thing & when the CM walked away they turned around & came back. Then they were firmly told that the area was restricted for adults only. I appriciated that they enforced the rules. We've been to resorts where they don't enforce & it is akward because we specifically choose places that have adults only areas! Everyone says that we're crazy for going on DCL since we are just 2 adults but my bf & I were talking about it & if you really wanted to- you could potentially have avoided children the entire cruise. We wouldn't-- I don't even notice large groups of children because I work with kids-- he on the other hand got a little shaken up by the sight in the mickey pool LOL- but if you wanted to - stateroom dining, Palo, spa, clubs at night, Serenity Bay & the adult pool- you could have done it! My only suggestion would be a swim up bar so you didn't have to get out of the pool ever!!
