Adult only trip to check out all resorts, what are the must dos? And other tips.

It sounds like you don't need to checkout the Crescent lake area... ( If you haven't... The boardwalk is fun in the evening, and you could ride a loop on the skyliner - checkout RIV )

I would ride the blue flag boat from BLT ( or CCV) and checkout the construction of Lakeshore... You could get off at Ft Wilderness and checkout that area ( ranch, shops etc...) could even loop the internal bus route and checkout cabins.

At SSR/OKW:

While staying there, we have done pool/hot tub crawls using the internal bus loop... You could do that without swimming Easy way to checkout those resorts... Checkout treehouses at SSR... Could pick up the boat at tree House dock to ride to Disney Springs... When we stay at either OKW or SSR, we usually make Disney Springs a bigger part of the stay cuz its close.

I see lots of recomendations for Geyser Point while you are at CCV - and I agree as the food and views are wonderful. Time it to be there around 9:30 and watch the Electric Water Pageant. But don't sleep on Territory Lounge right next to Artist Point. They have a fabulous bar service - and the cocktails are far, far better than the ones at Geyser Point (which is technically the pool bar and the drinks reflect that). They also have a small selection of appetizers that are really, really good (baked potato flatbread and bourbon bacon are favorites). We grab a drink (or two ) at Territory Lounge along with an app and then get on the waitlist for GP for a later dinner with the MK fireworks and the Water Pageant. Perfect evening!

You will want to be down at Geyser Point in time for the Water Pageant which comes by at 9:30. We like to get down there by 8 - 8:30 so we've finished eating by then. Ideally you can get a table near the water, but it really doesn't matter. It's an open air restaurant so if you don't have the best view you can just step outside for a few minutes. The Pageant doesn't last very long. You will definitely want to be outside of GP for the fireworks for the best views. Now temper expectations as this is not the view from the Poly beach, but you do get a nice view of the higher fireworks and they pipe the music into the restaurant. It's a lovely way to end the evening.

Geyser Point can get busy!! We've waited an hour or more for a table before, but other times only 20 or 30 minutes. I'd say head to Territory Lounge around 6 - 6:60, enjoy a drink or two and an app then try to get on the waitlist for GP around 7:30 or so. That should get you down there in time for all the extra fun stuff. Geyser Point is just a vibe, regardless. You could forget you are in Disney World, just enjoying a lovely evening at a lakeside lodge watching all the boats cruise by.

Edited to add: There is a rumor floating around that Geyser Point is going to start taking ADR's soon. I'm hoping this is not true, and until I hear something official from Disney I'm ignoring it. Frankly one of the reasons we love staying at Cooper Creek or Boulder Ridge is because you don't have to make advance reservations to have a wonderful evening. I can't tell you how many times we had plans to be in the parks much later, but the crowds / heat / creaky joints got the best of us and we bailed. It's so nice to know we aren't stuck scrambling for an ADR or hitting QS at the hotel. Keep it walk up / wait list please, Disney! You listening, Mickey???

Flying Fish is on my list, but I haven't gotten to it yet. Brown Derby might also be a good choice if youa re going to find yourself in Studios, but I would not make a special trip for it. If you eat seafood, the Parrilllada del Mar at La Hacienda is excellent. Any of the "event" bars (Oga's, Trader Sam's, etc.) would be worth a visit. Disney has gotten on the mocktail train, so if you are alcohol-free, there are still good choices.

(I am still waiting for a Disney bar to replicate the Pepper Potts at my local date night place.)

If you are nightlife people, see who is playing at House of Blues. I've seen a show there during the solo portion of a trip, and it was good fun. You probably do not have time for this, but the Epcot Band Tour can be a good time, depending on who is playing where and what days they have off. (I am still sad about Off Kilter).

Taking the redeye again which I said I would never do again, so we arrive at 6am Saturday, we depart in the evening on Monday. But since it's just us and we wont have to be on the go hopefully I can handle it better this time. Doing a split stay only to be able to experience 2 different resorts. My husband hates split stays, but since we aren't doing alot of park stuff and we have 1 less person to pack/unpack for it should be easier I am just going to not really unpack at all. I will have 2 suitcases, one for 1 night and 1 for the 2nd.

I have not done the DVC cruise but we did charter a private Fireworks cruise for the family this past December, everyone loved it!

I have looked into the regular Fireworks cruise but didnt realize there was a DVC one. We wont be there on a Wednesday this trip but I am keeping this in my back pocket for our February trip!

Yes 2 bedrooms will be tough even as an owner at BWV since everything is lock-off.

The 1 bed premium certainly hurts when booking two of them for sure.

I got zero sleep last time, not even 2 minutes, I took a nap before leaving for the airport which could've played a part and I had my kid so I was paying attention to him and his comfort. When we flew back from Hawaii on the Red Eye, I probably got 2 hours sleep during the 6.5 hour flight, I am not a sleep anywhere type person. DH sleeps the moment his butt hits the seat on any flight. Id say 60% visit resorts 40% fun getaway. I suggested getting a room for the night we are flying but DH said no which I was surprised by but then again he has no issue sleeping on planes

So you will not have a room from your 6am arrival to 4pm check in? And then the next day you are homeless again from 11am to 4pm?

Yep. We got extra lucky last time and got our room as soon as we arrived at the resort at 7am. I know we wont be that lucky again. We should be fine with no room from 11-4 the following day, but we always hope for a room ready earlier text.
