WDW vet visiting DLR for my third time next week. Just wondering about the availability of liquor near the parks. The WDW resorts offer a small selection in their gift shops for consumption. Does the same apply at DLR?

Yes. Both hotels have gift shops that sell liquor. Adult beverages are available in Downtown Disney and DCA.

Best place ever for imbibing in adult drinks is Trader Sam's in the DLH. So much fun! Haven't had so much fun since they closed the Adventurers' Club in WDW.

P.S. Grew up in the western 'burbs. Where are you?

California Adventure has several beer stands, a couple of bars/lounges, and drinks are also sold at the Mad T Party.

Our favorite place for an adult beverage is at the Carthay Circle Lounge (when we can get in) or the Uva Bar in DTD. Uva Bar also has an awesome tapas menu, and good people-watching.

If you can get an invite, there's alcohol for sale in Club 33.

Some folks in another thread awhile back recommended the Cove Bar. Thanks for all of the other suggestions.

Grand bob- I'm in Glen Ellyn if you know where that is.

Frozen drinks at the Cozy Cone Motel in Carsland. YumMYYYY!!!

Just a story...and I agree with all the previous posters here, but my husband and I picked up drinks at the Mad T Party (the mojitos I believe) and were walking through CarsLand when we saw a PhotoPass photographer, and since it was just starting to get dark, and we had a PP+ card, we thought we would pose for a picture with all the neon in the background, well, the photographer made us put our drinks down, and would not take a pic of us if we were holding our drinks. :confused3 So be prepared to put your drink down if you want your picture taken by a Disney PP Photographer.

When DH and I needed some quiet, adult time away from the parks while still "at" the parks, we head over to the lounge in Grand Californian for their grown-up drinks. Do be forewarned they are pretty strong. I only had one Glo-tini, and I leaned on DH to get back to our hotel. We like Trader Sam's a lot, but if we want to sit outside with a drink and listen to the music, it's not a kid-free environment. (I always feel weird drinking around other people's kids, so I felt really weird to have kids all around me as DH and I had drinks at TS.)

On the mousewait app, people often post pics of the "black Pearl" drink at the cove bar in CA. Havnt tried it myself but it looks good.

Sangria at flo's v-8. Always lots of seating it seems too .

Sweettears & grandbob - I'm in Palatine! A little more north, but I sure know where Glen Ellyn is!!

Of course! I went to HS at Riverside-Brookfield. Glenbard West was in our conference. The first house I bought after college was in Glen Ellyn Countryside.

And my ex-wife taught at Arlington High School.

Cheers!

A slightly different question. This trip will be solo and I always enjoy chilling out at the boardwalk and WS when at WDW. What places would you recommend at DLR that would provide a similar vibe. I know the water thing is not going to happen.

The Pacific Wharf area and Paradise Pier are nice places to sit and people watch when in DCA.

In DL, the Hub, a nice rail-side table at Cafe Orleans or the outdoor seating area near Stage Door Cafe are good spots. Nice view of the Rivers of America from Cafe Orleans and Stage Door.

Thanks. I spent some time at Cafe Orleans last trip. I'll have to check out the wharf.
