ADRs when staying off property

I am helping a friend of mine navigate wdw after our trip next week. We are staying on property and used a travel agent so I knew when our dining window opened.
What is the process if you are staying off property? Is it 60 days from the first day your ticket is active?

I'm pretty sure it is 60 days from the calendar date. If they're trying for some of the hard ADRs, they'll need to do it day by day for each day of the trip.

60 days in advance of each day you have a ticket for, one day at a time. For example, I have date based tickets for 2 days over Thanksgiving - 11/24 and 11/26. I can make ADRs for each date at 60 days before, respectively.

To clarify, tickets and dining reservations are not connected and you don't have to have them to make dining reservations. You just have to wait until 60 days out from when you want to dine.

If you check into your offsite hotel on November 23 and want to have dinner at Chef Mickey's, you can book that reservation 60 days out even though you're not going into a park.
