ADRs in January?

I'm trying to figure out if either the basic or deluxe dining plans work for us. I have a significant number of TS already booked. But is there a possibility of walk-ups in January? I know there are some that are booked way in advance (Le Cellier and Cali Grill are two), and we're not looking for characters.

I don't want to get the dining plan and be locked into ADRs we don't want anymore (because we're somewhere else, feel like a different place, not hungry, whatever) and then have all these credits left over!

I don't know if this really answers your question, but I had absolutely no problems getting my ADRs for our January trip including Chef Mickeys and Le Cellier for our party of six at the exact times we asked for during prime dining hours. I would guess, if you're not picky about when and where, you will probably be able to get some walk-ups, or same-day ADRs. (Just cancel the ones you're not going to use, even if it's the same day, it will help out someone else hoping to get a walk-up.)

Great; that does answer my question. It's just d and me, and we both tend to be pretty flexible. Now to do some calculations and determine if the money works out!
