ADRs for July 3-4

I know some ADRs can be hard to come by any time, and things like free dining can affect ADR availability. But does July 4 usually affect availability much, especially at resort restaurants?

We're staying CL Poly July 3-5 and I'm concerned about our chances of booking 'Ohana for the 4th (party of 11), especially since we don't check in til the 3rd, so we can't really take advantage of +10 booking. (We aren't expecting to go to the parks for very long, if at all, on the 3rd and 4th, we'd like to hang around the resort those days, and I don't care for Kona (love 'Ohana), so being able to book 'Ohana for the 4th is fairly important.)

It's packed around the 4th so yes it may effect getting ADRs. Especially for a hard to get ADR with a large party. I'd have a backup option just in case. Or expect to keep watching for cancellations.

I haven't had any trouble finding dinner reservations at Ohana for 11 people in late June (even closer than 180 days), so I'm not sure if I shouldn't worry about it or if July 4 will be a totally different story. I know July 3 and 4 are very busy, but are the resort restaurants the same? Or do crowds tend more to stick to the parks?

Ohana is very popular on the 3rd and 4th. People want to eat there and stake out the beach, or try to get one of the window views late for fireworks. (You are unlikely to be seated on the window with a large party.)

We have a theme park view room, so sitting by the windows isn't too big of a concern

All the restaurants at resorts with a view of the fireworks will book very quickly. Ohana and Cali Grill will book the fastest, but prime dining times for Kona, GF Cafe, Narcoosees, and 1900 Park fare will be gone quickly, too. Since you have a view from your room, why not order room service? The entire property will be a logistics nightmare those two evenings...But, you could always take the boat over to FW or WL and eat at Trail's End, HDDR or Artist Point. The boats will be busy, but if you want a sit down dinner, that would keep you off the roads whether you travel by car or bus. If that sounds like something you'd like to do, I recommend catching the boat at the Contemporary instead of MK.

Certainly, but the greater portion of my point is that people book this and will be booking it before you are allowed to book. It may be difficult to get.
