I was thinking about my ADR's for my trip in Sept and was just wondering what happens if you miss your ADR or cancel your ADR that day because you just did not feel like eating a big meal that night. If you are on the Dining plan is there a penalty for not making your ADR? One more questions can you use a sit down credit for fast food or is it only to be used as a sit down/Table service? Sorry if these seem like odd questions but I must know before I book Dining again and thanks for your responses.

Absolutely no penalty. We changed our ADRs around A LOT once we got to Disney.

Oh and yes you can use a TS credit for one CS credit. And during free dining (you said September...) they usually switch one TS credit for one CS and two snacks!

Some of the signature restaurants have a cancellation policy. You have to give a credit card to hold your reservation and if you do not show up they charge you a penalty. Pretty much any 2 credit table services does this and the Princess Breakfast in Norway (which is one credit) CRT takes a credit card. Most restaurants do not require a credit card and there are no penalties for not cancelling..but you should to open up the table for a guest who might want it..common courtesy is to cancel if you know you are not going to use the reservation.

The basic dining plan allows 1 credit per day per person to be used at a sit down restaurant and 1 credit for counter service (fast food) per person per day...plus 1 snack per person per day.

The deluxe plan allows 3 credits per person per day to be used at either a counter or sit down, 2 snacks per person per day, and refillable mugs per person.

I am usually on the Cruiseline boards, but have been visiting these boards recently. Where can I get the meanings for the abbreviations? Especially "ADR"???

I know the standard DH, DS,DW, DD, but what about the restaurant abbreviations?

No worries here if for some reason we ever fail to make an ADR short for advance dining reservation I would call the restaraunt and let them know we will not be making our ADR so that they can open up that time slot to another family. I have my dining plans pretty much set and thanks for letting me know about the signature dining thing. The only place we are eating at that takes up two sit down credits is for CRT and thats for dinner.

ADR is Advance Dining Reservation.

I'll try to find a link for you with the restaurant abbreviations. Some that I can think of off the top of my head.

CRT - Cinderella's Royal Table
CM - Chef Mickey's
LTT - Liberty Tree Tavern
CP - Crystal Palace
V&A - Victoria & Albert's
WCC - Whispering Canyon Cafe
RFC - Rain Forest Cafe
50's PTC - Prime Time Cafe
HBD - Hollywood Brown Derby
R&C - Rose and Crown

I just booked all our ADR's last night and all our Signature restaurants asked for a credit card to guarantee the booking. They said if we didn't show or canceled with less than 24 hours notice, we'd be charged $20 for that ADR.
