I thought I have read on here that Disney "saves" spots for the meals for reservations the day of the meal. Is there any truth to this?? I am really regretting not booking 1900 Park Fare dinner and I am calling everyday to see if there is any cancellations. Is there any chance of getting a reservation if I call the morning we want to eat there?

I do not recall ever reading that. However, people do cancel all the time and it never hurts to call the morning of to see if a spot has opened up for you.

I don't think they save spots, but we have had qute a bit of luck booking day-of or walking up to lots of restaurants on property.

I doubt very much that they save tables for same-day reservations. People do cancel reservations, and that's why some same-day ADRs become available. It's a limited selection, though.

Back in December when my friends and I went to the Magic Kingdom a few days before I tried getting luch ADR's at any restaurant and I was told they were all full. However when we asked if there was room at Liberty Tree Tavern we got in without any problems and only waited 5 minutes to be seated when they were busy. So even though the ADR's slots were gone we were still able to walk-in and if you don't ask you never know what the answer might be.

The couple of times I have tried that, we have never had any luck:( I now make all the adr's as soon as Disney allows!

I don't think they save any spots. I never read that one. I did ask one time if they put some aside for walk ups and I was told no.

I rarely make ADR's since I don't have any "must eat at" restuarants at Disney (they're not that good) .
We always call the morning of and have always gotten a TS meal so keep checking and see if you can vary your time a little. It always baffles me when I call and ask for a 7:00 pm ressie, nothing is available but if I then ask for 7:15 some thing opens up.

When I call, I usually say "around 7:00" and then if there is anything within an hour either way, I get all the options.

To the OP - if you are flexible with where you want to eat and what time you want to eat, there are available dining reservations. However, you want a specific restaurant so you might be disappointed.

I've been successful in calling only a few hours from a wanted dinner time while I was in Epcot. Because I had several choices of places I was willing to dine, I was able to get the Rose and Crown for a 6:30 seating on a Saturday night. But I was extremely flexible and was even looking at Epcot resort choices too. You just never know.

Our last trip, I cancelled two of our ADR's the day of and was able to replace them with no problem. You do have to be a little more flexible that way, but you can do it.
