ADR System Upgrade - History

It may be precisely because of the final SWW. I called last week for SFDI at 89 days - there was no lunch and a 4:10pm dinner opening - and from the sounds of it the last weekend may be even more crowded. The limited table service options at DHS means they certainly would fill quickly.

Oh I know..I was worried about it, which is why I called at 7 on the dot (since we already have CRT & Chef Mickey's and we're not eating at Le Cellier, I wasn't really worried about most of my other choices)...but still, in the old system, they had a limited amount of seatings for the +10 option and then released more on the day that is actually 180 days out....I'm not sure they're doing that anymore on the basis of this experience.

(Also, I'm now pretty nervous about going into DHS on this day...it's our arrival day and I knew it would be crowded...the rest of my fam isn't all that into Star Wars, but DH is ...he was okay missing a lot of the events but he wants to look at the merchandise and see some of the characters dressed up, so I figured it'd be okay just browsing the park for a while and having a no-rush afternoon. Now I'm NERVOUS.)

I would keep calling back as I keep reading that as the actual 90th day opens, they release more tables, etc Saturday night I was able to get 50's cafe for 11 people and had a few options of the dining times - Good Luck as I am also expecting that weekend to be insane

I was on another thread and found this posted by Disboard Member bytheblood:

According to my source, there is not, nor was there ever to be an online system where you can make ADRs. The news release suggested a "new online system to make reservations"...this "online system" is within CRO which is supposed to make booking our dining reservations easier once all the kinks are worked out. This story got blown out of proportion.

The only true online system coming for those that are planning to visit WDW is the ability to check-in online up to 10 days prior to your visit
.

Anyone else heard this?

Thank you for this as well... I was confused as to what was going on with them!

I would be led to believe this, but on Disney's webpage, when you go to the restaurant section, under certain restaurants, there is a button called "make a reservation". When you click on it, it still goes to an error page, but I don't think it will be too long until it is up and working.......

Thanks for the information. I haven't been to the Disney restaurant page on the official Disney World website in a while.

Please forgive me as I'm sure this is answered somewhere in this thread. What exactly does "90+10" mean?

We are staying at Pop for 6 nights. So we can book 90 days ahead of time or 100 days ahead of time? I'm going to try to get LeCellier and Coral Reef, please help! Thanks!

You take your arrival date - go back 90 days. This is when you can call for your ADR's. At this point you can book for your entire trip forward, assuming your trip is less than 10 days. That is where the 90+10 comes from.
So technically if your trip is 10 days long - your LAST day is the 100th day.

Actually, its supposed to be 99 days, since the first day is included in your 10 days. So its really 90+9, but everyone calls it 90+10.

But you are correct, if your trip is 10 total days (the 10th day is 99 days out), you can book all of your ADRs in that one call except possibly the more popular ones, which may still need to wait for the actual 90 days from the date in question.

ooops, i didn't catch the prompt because i was preoccupied with something and i got scolded by the CM for not listening. don't appreciate being scolded since i'm THEIR guest!
got everything i wanted at least, and i inadvertently called a day later than i could have.

Okay can someone clarify if the ADR policy is now 90 days or 180 days? I thought it was 90 days now but someone else has told me they didn't hear of a change and they thought it was still 180 days.

Clarification please?

Its 90 Days. For Chef Mickey's, CRT and Victoria and Alberts reservations for days through I think, June 19th, you could make those three at 180 days. But that's it, and the window for making those three at further out than 90 days is about to end.

I see your trip is in 7 months, so for your dates, you will call at 90 days out.

:scared1: I think is horrible having to wait 90 days to place ressie. :scared1: I was very faithful last year showing up at my ressie and canceling the one I wanted to change. Just talked with a CM he told me the reason behind the 90 days was due to some many people not showing up at their schedule ressie:scared1: :scared1:

getting off my soap box now!!!:scared:

Well, since they are now not releasing park hours until 90 days out, I am thankful you can't make ADR's until 90 days out either. If park hours were still out that early, I"d be wanting to make my ADRS early too!

It drives me nutso that people double book, and don't show up. Maybe this will help. I wish they'd just have you leave a cc guarantee when you book, that would solve the problem very quickly.

I feel the same way.. AHHH I miss those park hours being out so early! I love planning and I'm counting down the days til my 90day mark!

What I feel bad for is people who have trips early in the month. My trip was mid June so park hours had been out for a couple of weeks before I had to call. I have a friend going in early June, and she had a hard time since she had to call the day they began to release park hours and not all hours were out yet. Poor thing!

I wish they'd do park hours at say four months so that you had a full month at least to plan before you call!

I like the 90 days on the ADR's. We always book our hotel and package 5-6 months out. So we had to have out whole trip planned out as soon as we made out room ressies. It made it seem so long until vacation. This way we have 2-3 months to plan our ADR's before we have to make them.

I like the 90 days also. I just can't plan that far ahead.

OP, my name is Faith too, not all that common (although my sister in law is also named Faith :rotfl: )
