Ok, so I have all of our huge ADRs booked, which is grand, except - I really wanted everyone to eat at the Rainforest the day we're at DAK. When I called them to make the ADRs they said parties of 20 or more (we're 30) need to order off of their "banquet menu" which gives you a choice of 3 different price ranges and there are 4 menu choices on each. Once you pick a menu, your guests get a salad appetizer and a dessert for the included price. I'm debating on whether or not this is a good idea -- are 4 choices enough to give people? Is it fair to ask people to come to this dinner and pay for themselves when they won't even get to eat what they want off the menu? :confused3

This is for halloween day -- we're going to DAK in the morning and afternoon, and since it closes early we want to go to MNSSHP from 7-12. They won't take any ressies for large parties after 5:30, so we can't eat at MK during the partay... Is there anywhere else you can think of? We're doing a lot of buffets (Chef Mickeys, Hollywood&Vine & Biergarten), it's kind of repetitive, but I like to give people choices (nothing worse than getting stuck eating stuff you don't like!)

HELP ME DISBRIDES!! :worship:

I was told by a cast member when I called to make reservations that the Trail's End buffet at Fort Wilderness has one of the best buffets on Disney property. I still haven't been able to fit it in, but I have heard great things from everyone.

Here's their menu.

I've also heard Cape May has quite a buffet, but a good portion of it is shellfish.

OMG thank you. :lovestruc That seems perfect. Any idea how close/far it is from Animal Kingdom or Magic Kingdom? It's hard for me to get a good idea of how long it is going to take to get to places. :confused3

And, good to know about Cape May - I've heard good things too, but didn't know their specialty is seafood (DM is deathly allergic!)

OMG, I had to add, thanks for reminding me about allears (they have like every single menu ever!)! I spend hours surfing allears a while back, but I didn't even look in the dining section! :hyper:

I say eat some where other than RFC.unless you have your heart set on it.

Look into the restaurants near the monorail since it will be easy to hop on the monorail and go straight to MK.

Do you like Ohana's...it is SOOOO good and one price for everybody,it's a set menu but it is all you can eat....it is really good there and a great family restaurant.

I agree with Lynn...Ohana's is awesome. :thumbsup2

We ate at trails end buffet in November and it was mediocre at best. Can't say I'd reccomend it for a family gathering.

Deathly allergic to all seafood? That's really unfortunate. Can she go to places that serve seafood at all? I agree, Cape May Cafe has a bunch of seafood and I know Ohana has shrimp.

Yes, I vote for something near a monorail. Like everyone else says Ohana's is AMAZING!!! 1900 PF is really good too!

Well, they can serve it, but they can't use any of the same utensils/grills/skillets/fryers etc. It's hard to eat out together -- although when she says to the waiter "If XX happens, I will die. Seriously, die." That usually perks some ears in the kitchen. :rotfl: Who wants to be the one that kills someone? Not it!

But, we're usually ok if we go out to a place that has shellfish, but it isn't their specialty...you know? We can usually make a severe request (and she avoids anything that was cooked in a fryer -- i.e., french fries, etc.)

Ohana sounds like a good bet -- I think I'm going to call today and see if they have room for 30! yikes...

LOL when I was a server I'd HATE when people said that to me...I was like "oh crap if the kitchen messes up it's gona be my fault this lady keels over!!" LOL :rotfl2:

:rotfl2: I used to work in the kitchen at a steakhouse and wait staff would come in and say that and I would literally baby-sit their food. :rotfl:

My future MIL has the same problem... she will literally die if she gets any seafood in her system. She can't have it share a plate or a grill... it's bad as well. So, I've already notified Shula's (our reception) and i will again on the night off. They say they can take care of it with no problems. Here's to hoping she doesn't die because of me on my wedding night! :thumbsup2

Just wanted to let you know that you can go into the MK with your party ticket at 4:00pm. There is so much going on at the party that even though it does not start till 7:00 it is good to get there early. When we have gone to different parties we try to have a large late lunch and then have either hot dogs or ice cream during the party while watching the first parade.

:rotfl2: Yeah that would put a damper on the day, wouldn't it?!

 OMG thank you for that tip! I didn't realize you could get in early!! I'm hoping I can convince everyone to get a park hopper, in which case that won't be a problem, but if not that's perfect!! THANK YOU!!!
