We're so excited. We're planning a trip in December (1-9). Most are first timers, so I want to make sure we have great dinners. My Father-in-law is not big on Buffets nor fast food, but since this is my 40th BD trip, they're all going along with my choices. 8 people (6 adults, 2 kids (age 3 boy & 4 girl)). We're staying at AKL. I have 2 character dinners planned - 1 at the beginning and 1 at the end.

Magic Kingdom Day - hoping for CRT for dinner
Epcot Day: Biergarten (FIL loves beer and german food, so thought this would be great). My husband and I have also already been here and really liked it.
Universal Studios Day: Portobello in Downtown Disney
Animal Kingdom Day: Boma at AKL
2nd day @Magic Kindgom Day / or a "free day": 1900 Park Fare for dinner. This is our last night, so want it to be memorable too.

Thanks for your feedback.

Just a few thoughts.
I only see 4 meals what are you doing on the other nights
Boma's food is definately not traditional people either like it or hate it. They use different spices my children hated it here. It is also a buffet We like Jiko much better.

ARe you not going to Hollywood studios if you are we love Mamma Melrose and get the fantasmic package so you can see it.

Other favorites of ours are Ohana, Le Cellier, Teppan Edo, Liberty Tree Tavern, Crystal Palace (buffet), 50's Prime Time, Whispering Canyon Cafe

Thanks for the feedback. We aren't going to Hollywood Studios this trip. I don't think the 2 kids are old enough to get much out of it. We are staying in a Villa, so we will also plan on preparing a few of our meals. We're planning on cooking all our breakfasts, and a few dinners. I do have Liberty Tree Tavern on for my backup plan. Would you suggest that instead of the 1900 Park Fare Happily Ever After dinner? We ate at LTT the last trip, and really enjoyed it.

Not to throw a wrench in your plans, but DHS is probably my four year-old son's favorite park after MK. There is a lot for him to do there, not the least of which is meeting Lightening and Mater from cars, as well as Buzz and Woody in once place. And Toy Story Mania is awesome. The Disney Jr. show is great, too, if your kids watch any of the Disney Jr. shows. And then there's the Muppets...

Two of the TS places are a lot of fun, too: Sci-Fi and 50's Primetime. 50's primetime, in particularl seems to be a really fun place for large groups.

I thought Biergarten, Boma, and 1900 PF are good choices. Not sure about the cost of CRT because we usually do the dining plan. I'm assuming it's pricy because it costs two table credits. What about O'hana possibly? The food is delicious and it has a fun atmosphere for the whole family, especially the kids.

We went this past November, and we didn't do LTT so I can't compare but 1900 was great. It was my favorite buffet.
And I too would say Hollywood Studios is great for those ages. Especially if they are Toy Story or Cars fans. My girls are 5 and 3 and they LOVED the Beauty and the Beast show and The Little Mermaid. The Disney Junior show is great too for that age. But I think they had the most fun at the Osbourne Lights, which is worth the trip to HS all it's own at that time of year.

Not sure if you are doing both parks there but Mythos at Island of Adventure is simply awesome -- best park food I have ever had!

Haven't been to Portobello but hoping to try it and, not sure if it matters, but the new Beauty and the Beast restaurant at MK should be open late summer so that might be worth trying to get one of your MK days

Sounds great. We will also be on the DDP, so the 2 credits for CRT are fine. My daughter is already so excited that she gets to eat inside the castle.

Our plans aren't set in stone yet, so I may run it by everyone to try Hollywood Studios. We went there when our daughter was 2 1/2, and it was really cold (30 degrees) and rainy that day. So, we didn't have the best memories compared to the other parks. Maybe we'll give it another try. Boma is the restaurant I'm most worried about (I'm kind of a picky eater too), along with the DT Disney location. We wanted something that is only 1 TS since we are using 2 on CRT.

What is everyone's favorite DT Disney restaurant?

I know my sister really wants to see the Harry Potter part, so that's what we have planned at this point. I'll check into Mythos.

Thanks for the info on Beauty and the Beast in MK. Any info on that yet? What is the setting and food going to be?
