ADR Mix-Up

I booked our reservations at 180 days out for our trip in March. Was just checking everything and I was horrified to see that our reservation for Tusker House breakfast is for 4 people, when it should be 6 (four adults + grandsons 6 and 2). I tried to rebook for 6 but there is nothing available the whole week. I didn't cancel the existing reservation. I'll keep checking each day....but what are our chances of all of us just showing up at our appointed time and getting seated?

Keep checking on-line. People make changes to their plans quite often.

Keep checking. Another option is to book a second reservation for 2 people and ask to have all 6 seated together when you get there.

Keep trying for the reservation (especially the one for two people) but if you don't get it, show up at the restaurant anyway and explain what happened. I would wager they will find a way to seat you.

I've even showed up at the Castle for dinner with an extra person and it's always worked out. I agree, keep trying to get the ADR, but I do think it will be OK if you show up with your whole group.

New question- I got an ADR for lunch at Yak & Yeti's. When I click on the dining plan link there; it's only checked for Deluxe Dining Plan. I didn't know it mattered which dining plan you had. Can I not use my regular dining plan here? Thanks.

Yes you can... it's an error on Disney's part (which unfortunately is causing lots of confusion).

In answer to the original question.....with March being very busy the odds are not in your favour to have an additional 2 people seated without the right number on the ADR. I would never say never but they do have to deal with fire code capacity.

Keep trying to get another ADR, either for 6 or 2. Check as many times per day as possible. I've managed to score very hot ticket places during free dining and at the last minute just by checking as often as 8 times a day. If you don't get anything before you depart for the world keep checking after you get to the resort via the phone and concierge.

Thanks for all the advice. I ended up tweaking our ADRs and was able to get Tusker house for Friday instead of Monday which is probably for the best anyway. We'll still go to AKL Monday with a return Friday before we head home. This is our first "big" trip as DVC members with our daughter's family; I feel like I've been earning my PhD in Disney planning! When we took our kids in 92 we just showed up and went with the flow. Now I know better, thanks to this board and the Unofficial Guide! Plan, plan, plan!
