I have booked our ADRs at 180 days for our last two trips with no problems; however, it was a group of 2 and group of 4... how much harder is a group of 8 going to be? Do I need to be prepared to split us?

It won't be as easy because there are fewer 8 top tables compared to tables for 2 or 4. However, it can definitely be done successfully. Start by looking for a party of 8 and if you cannot find anything you can also split your group and look for smaller reservations such as 2 ADRs for 4. When you check in at the podium ask if you can be seated together and they will do their best, but there is no guarantee. If you have a single reservation for 8 you have a better chance of being seated together or at adjacent tables since they know your party size, but there is still a possibility you will be split.

Start looking for reservations on your 180 day and if you are staying at a Disney owned resort take advantage of the 180 + 10.

We have a party of 8 this trip and it has not been easy finding reservations even on the day my window opened. Some of the ones where are I had to split us up into two parties were Yak & Yeti and 50's Prime Time--I never found availability for 8 at those two places. I have been able to get reservations at BOG, a Mama Melrose F! package, Teppan Edo. Villa Napoli and Crystal Palace for 8 (but not right off the bat....I had to keep stalking and I didn't wind up keeping all of them). The good news is...they are out there if you can find them.

We didn't have 8, but we successfully booked 1900 for 7 for breakfast if that gives you hope. :)

I booked 9 with relatively little stress. Most were booked at about 180 days, but I booked a few as late as 2 months out. There were some I had booked for 7, thinking not eveyone would want to join us so I aded ADR for 2 knowing we may not be able to be seated together, but each time the restaurant was able to accomodate us.

I booked between 7 and 11 for my wedding/honeymoon trip in August. We were fine when the window opened and when my in laws decided we should switch plans 4 months out and again at 3 months out (and a little bit again at 1 month out when they finally booked their flights) I was able to switch the reservations around fairly easily, even for Via Napoli and The Plaza for my groups of 7 at 3 months out. We did eat between 1 and 2 every day by choice though.

I had 9 on our last trip and had no problems. We had BOG, Chef Mickeys, 1900 Park Fare, Biergarten, 'Ohana and Whispering Canyon.

I have booked for 10 with no problem. It's possible, just plan to have a few backups in case your #1 choices aren't available. They may tell you that your party may be separated, but I've never had that happen.

I booked for 9 with no problems. BOG, CRT, pre-park CP, Chef Mickey's, 'Ohana, Akershus, and Tusker House...I was expecting it to be difficult but I was done within about 30 minutes on my 180+10 date. I did get 'Ohana at a later time than I would have preferred (8:20, when 7:30 would be ideal for that day) but otherwise they were all pretty much the times I wanted.

I mostly book between 7-9 people and have gotten most everything we wanted. But, most everything we like accommodates larger groups.

Last time, we had 8 people. We were expecting to be split up at some meals even though we had an ADR for 8. We were not split up at Liberty Tree, Chefs de France, Boma or Le Cellier. I can't remember what happened at the Plaza but I think we were at adjoining tables.

I recommend doing some test searches way far out so you can see the types of places that come up in the larger party search. That's how I got a sense of what places were realistic (FYI, BOG and CRT take large party numbers if those appeal to you. You just need to be prepared they may still split your group if they have to.)

I just booked a reservation at CRT for a group of 8 on a Saturday morning in April at 9:10 am. At the 180 day mark at 6:00 am I booked online for the last day of our trip. I've listened to everyone here insist on booking on the 180th day and it worked!
