ADR Changers - We still don't know what we want for dinner!

Just a few things--I'll let you know about running the race, definitely!

The french onion soup and the lobster bisque are great at Chefs!

I love dinner at Kona.

Thanks, oh, and I started my Dining PTR. Link is in my signature.

I just went & subscribed to your Dining PTR! :goodvibes

I was able to snag a decent time for dinner at Chef Mickey's on a different day! My DH is happy he gets an extra hour sleep and I'm happy we don't have to skip CM! I know it gets mixed reviews but we have never been and I feel like it's something we should experience at least once. And we got T Rex scheduled for the birthday boy so he's happy too...I'm sure we will be making a stop in the gift shop there:rolleyes1 just a little over two months now!

Happy planning to everyone:wizard:

How exciting! You got what you really wanted! :woohoo:

In the past, I would always let other people's reviews of Chef Mickey's steer me away from eating there. Finally, we gave it a try for breakfast. We really enjoyed it. There was a lot of food to choose from & it was fresh. And, of course, we got to knock out meeting the Fab Five. I hope y'all have a great experience there!

My best friend & her family went to TREX in February. They absolutely loved it! She said it was one of the best meals of their trip.

Hopefully, the time will start to fly for your trip to get here! :goodvibes

Thanks so much! We are super excited!

Glad to hear good experiences for CM and TRex. We are not too hard to please when it comes to food so as long as the atmosphere is fun we will be fine.

I feel like time is always flying by since I've had my kids. Your trip will be here before you know it too!

That's pretty much how we are, too. It would take a lot for us to really hate a place.

You are so right! I told one of the moms at my son's school yesterday how this month is flying by. I can't believe Easter is in weekends. I feel like it snuck up on me. I'm so ready for our trip - I hope it gets here fast!

Hi there. :guilty: Do you all mind if I join you? I am also a resort changer, date changer, itinerary changer, and worst of all...ADR changer. In fact, I spent this morning canceling and adding and rearranging our ADRs for our trip in August. It will be DH, myself and our 6 year old. We are all vegetarians and this will be our fifth trip to WDW together.

I always enjoy trying new restaurants each trip. We also have our favorites and our one must do (Boma).

Our plans so far: Staying at CSR (first time there) from August 25-31 with Free Dining

8/25 Arrive. I need advice here on a TS. This is our arrival day and I keep waffling back and forth between EP and MK this day. DH always likes to do MK the day we arrive, so I will probably go with that...so any suggestions for dinner here would be appreciated. We will have a car, so transportation is not an issue.

8/26 Boma. Have to do this one!

8/27 Mama Melrose. We went here for the first time our last trip. this time we are doing the F! package. It was one of DH's favorite meals and I have to say, I really enjoyed it too! It was a pleasant surprise since I have seen a number of either bad or just "meh" reviews for it. We had excellent service and enjoyed the flatbread. Salad was fresh and crisp, and the Sangria was almost as good as mine.

8/28 Via Napoli. This will be our first time here. I realize we have two "Italian" meals stacked next to one another...something my crazy, OCD WDW planning brain has a hard time wrapping itself around...but we will be at DHS for the EMH the night before, and this is the day I planned for EP. Maybe I will consider switching our EP day to Wednesday...

8/29 Tuskerhouse. We have done the breakfast three times and it is our favorite character meal. I have heard good things about the dinner, especially for vegetarians...plus we have never seen the AK parade, so this is my excuse to be there! I could rearrange the 28th and 29th so that I have a better variety as far as our dinners go. (What is wrong with me?!)

8/30 California Grill. Another meal we very much enjoyed last time. :) This will be our last night so we will head over to MK afterwards.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!! Especially for my arrival date. I am sure my plans will continue to change as the date gets closer. Thanks to Amanda for starting this thread. I don't feel so alone.

:welcome: You are most definitely not alone in your ADR changing!

Your plans sound really good! :thumbsup2

If y'all go to MK on arrival day, would you prefer a TS in MK or a nearby resort? I don't know which restaurants have good vegetarian options. I wouldn't think OHana would be a good choice for y'all. At MK, you could work in another character meal at Crystal Palace or CRT, if interested. I wouldn't think you'd want to do Tony's since you'll be having 2 other Italian meals. LTT is good but has lots of meat. Y'all could also head over to Chef Mickey's at CR. Kona is very good at Poly.

Any thoughts on those? :confused3

I would prefer a TS our arrival night. We have actually done OHana when CHef TJ was there and we really enjoyed it. :) We have also already done CP (it was alright, but our son isn't that into character meals) and CRT which I enjoyed, but not enough for 2TS credits. I already had Kona and CM as ADRs and got rid of them...that is where I have nothing now. I don't think I want another buffet, but I have heard great things about Kona...maybe I will add it back for Saturday. ;)

Oh I know! It feels like we just had Easter last year!

Your trip will be here before you know it!Oct seems like such a great time to go. We are thinking Oct 2013 for our next trip, (haven't even been on this trip yet but thinking of the next one!) MNSSHP looks so fun!

We've had dinner before at Kona & really liked it. It doesn't have the best atmosphere of all the Disney restaurants, but the food is good.

I know what you mean....I already booked our 2013 vacation this past week! You can never plan too far ahead! :goodvibes

Next Monday will finally be my day to make ADRs! :woohoo:

However, I still have 2 conundrums to figure out. So, y'all feel free to give some input.

1. We were thinking dinner at Sci-Fi on our DHS day. We will be doing an early lunch at H&V. But, would it be better to do the early lunch at H&V and then have an early dinner at MM & do the F! package?

AND

2. I really wanted to fit in 2 dinners at Epcot because I really want to try both Via Napoli & Chefs. Since it'll also be F&W, I didn't want to do 1 for lunch & 1 for dinner. I was planning on us going to Epcot on Monday after IoA & having dinner at Chefs. Well, that is the 30th anniversary of Epcot. We were really just going for dinner & would maybe try to ride the boat rides in Mexico & Norway. Is it worth it to brave the crowds or should I just scrap that night in Epcot? If I scrap it, then I need to decide if I make 1 of them our lunch ADR on our Epcot day & do the other for dinner that day OR just scrap 1 off. And if I scrap one, which one do I lose?

Help!

Amanda I can't remember where you are staying .... if one of the Epcot resorts it should be really easy to go in IG over the bridge and to Chefs. :goodvibes

have any of you changed your ADR's all the way up until the day before you left? I feel like I am crazy and constantly changing mine. I leave in 24 days and just changed some more around today! What am I thinking?!?!?!

We'll be at Boardwalk our 1st night, but then we're moving to Old Key West. So, we'd have to drive to Epcot from IoA. I just don't know what to do. I don't think the crowds would bother me that much if we're just there for dinner. My fear is that I'd have the ADR & we'd get there only to be told Epcot was closed because it was full! :lmao: I don't really think it'll be that bad.....hopefully!

I was changing ADRs up until a few days before leaving for our trip last year. You're not crazy....you just want the perfect vacation! Besides, if you're crazy, that makes all of us crazy! :rotfl: I think the crazy ones are the people who don't make any ADRs and try to walk up to all these TS places to eat....especially during busy times. :sad2: Now, that's crazy! :rotfl2:

So, what's IoA??
My other question was Chefs and Via.... Both are ones that I would love to try as well. Is it the dinner menus that you prefer at each?? Because if not, then consider lunch. If it's something that you want that's only on the dinner menu then, I wouldnt necessary go for lunch.

Totally understand your concern about the possibility of crowd issue. I personally wouldnt want to risk it but, I'm not sure if just because it's the 30 year day, things would get to that level ( unless there is something magical happening)

Very excited for your 180.. I'm still up in the air on a few on mine but, I havent made any changes for over a week yet.

IoA: Islands of Adventure
I was planning on us leaving there by 2pm & heading straight to Epcot. Now, I'm just so unsure. As of right now, I'm leaning towards just doing 1 day in Epcot & doing lunch @ Via Napoli & dinner @ Chefs.

That's great that you haven't made any changes in over a week! I hope I'm all set on what I want come Monday morning.

I knew I wasnt the only one!! I am currently having some ADR issues! Maybe I can get some good opinions here! So we are booked at POR for 7 nights on DDP with reg tickets no hoppers (yet I hope to change this cause we have never gone without PH but to justify the price increase to DH from value to mod I had to possibly give up PH:scared1:) So here goes!
