ADR Cancelation policy?

I've made all my ADRs and planned everything out perfect, but the one thing I can't plan for is my mother. She has MS and even though she'll be using an ECV, some nights she might just be done and not be able to make it for dinner. If that happens, what do I need to go about our ADRs? Do I have to cancel or will they understand when we don't show up 15 mins. early? I would always cancel at home, but since an ADR is not a true reservation...

Also, is there an issue if we change the number eating? It would always be less, not more.

When I talked to Disney via chat, they told me that I should just call 407-939-3463 as soon as I knew we weren't coming. So I think if you knew only 30min prior to your reservation that would be enough. I think it is just a courtesy to cancel, nothing would happen if you didn't.

Thanks Amanda. I'll put that in my phone. I hope we don't have to cancel, but you just never know. I've seen my mother get so tired, she didn't think she would be able to make it out of the mall, much less to dinner after a day in WDW. Just want to be prepared!

The only time it would matter would be if it's an ADR that required a credit card guarantee. If fewer show up, you would be charged a no show fee for those ADRs. Believe me, I know from experience. One morning I was ill and sent my mom and husband on to Akershus, thinking that as long as they showed up we wouldn't be charged. However, when we got home and I went online to pay my credit card bill, I found we had been charged for me not showing up at Akershus. So for things like the Fantasmic pkg, dinner shows, California Grill, CRT, and Akershus you would be charged if she didn't show up.
