I called Travel City tonight to price up some PE upgrade on our flight and thought i'd throw in a few questions that I had already been given answers to to ensure advisors were giving me the same answers! I asked about the ADR booking number as previously I had been told that I could get it at the 180 day point but the advisor today told me I could have it. He gave me a 12 digit number. Is this correct and all i need?

Yep!

I booked with Travel City Direct too and the number they gave me a few days before the 180 day mark was 12 digits long and began with a 422, but obviously yours could be totally different!

My only warning would be that I couldn't book online, at all. I had so many problems with how Disney told me to go about it - it would either not recognise the number at all, or it would but still wouldn't allow me to book, or it would log me out or crash.

When I spoke to Disney, they said that it can be 'glitchy' with travel agent numbers, rather than their own direct booking numbers. Of course, if you're only wanting to book one day at a time this wont be an issue - but if you're wanting to book your +10 days, may want to call if you have any problems!

xx

Thanks for the warning. I only say this 10 day booking today. So if my 180 days for sept 9th arrival start March 13th, if I go on on march 13th I can still book the first 10 days of ADR's? Or have I got that wrong?
So did you have problems booking the odd day here and there?
One last question, why do you have to put you dining plan number in? Why can't you just reserve against your name as if you weren't on the dining plan? I'm not going to do that but just wondered why it works that way?
Thanks

Yes, if you're staying onsite and your 180 days starts March 13th you can go on-line that day and book 10 days of ADRs. The 12 digit booking no. isn't really anything to do with the dining plan. It's your conf. no. which is supposed to link your resort reservation with your dining, so that you're able to make ADRs for your first 10 days without the conf. no you wouldn't be able to to do this on-line.

You know you don't have to call to make ADR's you can do it online.

IF you have a smartphone download the "my disney experience" app and you can make ADR on there faster than the online web page. You can also use this app to see what the park wait times are for each ride. It also keeps track of all your ADR's

A lot of us (me included) needed to phone to make our ADRs because we couldn't get our resort confirmation to link to dining, so in order to do the 180+10 there really wasn't another option.
