Well I think this shoud be classified as new disorder. Let me tell you why.

In the past our trips have always been more lastminute events and we took whatever we could get for our ADRs. Well this year I am planning out my trip with dd. Originally I was very excited at the 180 day window but as it approached I got more nervous, changed my plan a million times, and finally settled on a plan.

Well today was the day. Did I sleep last night ---- no. I was too preoccupied about picking the right places at the right times. It is offically 180 days until my trip. So I pruposely drop dd off at preschool a little early. I pull over into a parking, get my phone and call. A very nice lady anwers and helps me make all my arrangements. After about 20 minutes it's all over. I have all the ADRs I wanted at the times I wanted(see below). Whew!

Well now I wonder was my anxiety needless? If you call at your 180 day window is it possible to not get an ADR? Last year we made our trip about a month out and were flexible but pleased with our ADRS.

Anyway I am sure I will chnage them before I go. After all I have 6 months to revise my plan! :rotfl2:

My ADRS:
Arrival day: none just check in and enjoy POP
First day: Dinner at 50s PTC
Second Day: Dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern
Third Day: My Perfectly Princess Tea Party (a non park day) pixiedust:
Foruth Day: Lunch at CRT
Fifth Day: Dinner at Chef Mickey's
Sixth Day: Breakfast at Crystal Palace & Family Magic Tour
Seventh Day: Princess Storybook Breakfast at Epcot

Since my dd will be five at the time of the trip and not a very advertuous eater I choose to do the character meals.

I am TOTALLY the same way...typically we just made reservations for one or two things and then flew by the seat of our pants for the rest. Well now that I found this board I have been a FANATIC! I think that my husband might have me commited for being so obsessed with it! But finally he figured out that I might go batty if he didn't sit down and confirm it all...we did it. And now I am just waiting to find out if there is a Toy Story meal...if there is then I will cancel Ohana's...but I am with you...tonight I probably won't sleep because RUMOR has it that tomorrow could be the day!

ENJOY your trip!

I get heart palpatations just thinking about the 180 day mark. I'm a first-timer (as an adult) and want everything to be issue-free. We planners have it tough.

I really agree. I mean if we did not take the time to plan we really would not know how much we are missing out on. :rotfl2:

WOW! I feal the same way. I am getting nervous about making my ADR's. On Thursday morning I get to get up at 3:45am to make mine. ( we live in Wa. so the time difference in NOT fun) I am mostly concern with CRT for lunch. I hope we get the time we really want. Good luck to all, Gina

I absolutely felt the way you did! And you worded it just prefectly!
Today was our 180 day mark, too! Boy, I am glad that is all over with. We got all of our desired ADRs, too, and also at the times we wanted. :goodvibes
We will probably cross paths with you at POP on August 27th! Our first day, too! Enjoy!

Our ADRs:
day 1: Dinner at CRT
day 2: Dinner at Bom'a
day 3: Breakfast at Crystal Palace
day 4: Dinner at LeCellier
day 5: Dinner at OHanas
days 6 & 7: leaving open for meals

Your ADR's are great!

In the same vein, I had dream/nightmare that I was in WDW and I had forgotten to order my DDE card! :lmao: Definitely a disorder.

I have been making my 180 day ADR's since February 17th. Every morning since then, I have gotten up at 6:45 or earlier. (Workdays I get up at 6 so I'm ready by the calling time!) Three CM's so far have told me that it wasn't my 180 days yet when I called (they were all proven wrong) but I got so worked up over it, I was just imagining all my ADR's growing wings and flying away! Today I was on the phone for 17 minutes with a very inept CM - and I didn't end up getting the ADR I wanted! It's all straightened out now, but I know how you feel about anxiety. It can really work on you after awhile. I am sure all of your ADR's will be perfect.

:rotfl: :rotfl: one more thing...I forgot to say that I agree with you. ADR Anxiety Disorder should be classified as a new disorder. :rotfl: Maybe it would qualify me for a leave of absence from work-so I can use that time off to plan our next time, of course! ohhh,,, how to break the cycle! :rotfl:

I think I have ADR Anxiety too!! My big fear for this trip is-- what if it isn't as great as the last trip (in Nov 2004)! Do any of you have that anxiety too?

I didn't get to stew about the ADRs this time around because we moved our trip up from Nov to March, but due to the lack of advanced planning-- I took what I could get! We got ADRs at Chef Mickey's, Princess Storybook, Garden Grill, LTT and Crystal Palace.

We didn't even like CP that much last time, but I got an 8:05 sitting 18 days out and everyone on this board seems to love it-- so I figured we would try again. So many people hate Chef Mickey's on this board I am fearing it won't be as great as the first time-- we absolutely loved it!

Good luck with your trip!

you know if you think about it the main group of people who are going to get worked up about ADRs are the people who use these boards.... lets face it most of us are here due to obsessions or because we are forward planners

meanwhile the vast majority of people visiting disney will not visit these boards or other prior to their trip and may not have any concept of the 'crucial' 180 day mark.

for that reason I don't think its ever likely you won't get ADRs if you book even a few days after the 180 days mark.... in fact I'd be willing to guess that you'd still be ok a month later..... but I won't be waiting because I'm one of those obsessive forward planners!! :rotfl2:

Just joining the ADR Anxiety club!! :rotfl:

My anxiety is knowing the 180 mark is coming soon, but our Tax Refund hasnt - so I cant book my resort ressies yet!! :crazy2:

Last night I did a tentative calendar to pencil in requests, and parks, and restaurants - Disney Dreaming (are you sure we cant do 9 days???) DH just shook his head at me?? :confused3

Do we do the CRT - do we stick with Princess Norway - I know that one will fill up with 2TS credits now for CRT - aaaack!! Do we do Artist Point, or go back to the Contemporary? You cant duplicate, and one posters opinion is different from our opinions!! :rotfl:

Is it anxiety or obsession??? :rotfl2:

Gotta watch the mailbox, and tweak my plans.. :coffee:

Just a note if you are traveling with children at Crystal Palace. Arrive a little early and check in early. Last time we did this my dd was picked to be chef for the day (we had an 8:05 ADR) and got to decorate pancakes with pooh, piglet, tigger, and eyeore. After that we are able to take pictures with all of them as a group (which is very difficult to do otherwise in my experience).

This more than made up for the food there.
Enjoy you trip!

Hi,
Ok I am a bit overwhelmed by all this planning- i love to plan, but how can I do it so far ahead. We are going Oct. 1 and so my 180 day mark will be here soon. How do I plan times for meals when I don't even know park hors and mostly extended hours?

I have an idea which restaurants we want to try-
Liberty tavern,
Le Celliar,
1900 Park Fare
Princess Story Book
50's prime time
Hoop de do Revue
Chef Mickeys or Crystal Palace
Fansmatic package?
Whispering Can.

But how do I decide if I ADR for Breakfast(late) or dinner and then how do I choose a time when I call in?? Do I just pick around a time I think I will want us to eat and call and see if that time is available?? Do they shedule every 15 minutes?? And then is there alot of switching around if one place is not available??
We will have our 4 kids and on dining plan, so any tips or help would be great!!

Thanks, momfor4

Mom to A Princess-- thanks so much for the tip!!! What time would you recommend arriving? Last time we did CP at lunch. It was ok-- just one of those bad times where you wait and wait for characters to come to your table and when they get to do the table before us-- they take a break! We never got to see Piglet.. oh well! It seemed like we were there forever and only saw Pooh and Eeyore.

thanks again!!!

Our ADR time was for 8:05, the park did not open until 9, we got there about 7:40. We had to wait to enter the park for a few minutes but once we did we went directly to CP (most people stopped to take pictures) and were the first family to check in. I would say get there about 1/2 early to be first in line.

I hope it works!

thanks so much again-- we will definitely try to get there early! DD4 would really love this...

will let you know how it goes in a week! thanks again-

I have a differnet but just as serious disorder. All my ADR's are made,( not perfect because I didnt decide to go to WDW 90 days let alone 180 days in advance)But I am totally stressing on if I made the right decision,
Will my family like the food at Chefs de France?
Should I change to Chef Mickeys on the last morning?

and then I will read a few posts like
"We use to love the WCC but the last 3 visits have been bad" and then 3 people agree and I think
"Well crap, do I cancel WCC, and what do I do instead."

I need a vacation to rest from planning this vacation. But I love the planning anyway.

Finished my 180 day ADR's today! (The last 14 days I've called ay 6:59 since Im staying at the Swan, not a "WDW" resort)

All that's left is Bistro de Paris (they only accept ADR's 30 days out) :scared:

Hi! I was wondering what adr's you got today LuLu? Did you get all the times you wanted? I have extreme ADR anxiety! My 180th day mark is Apr 3, for my Sept. 30th trip. I've been planning my itinerary for months now and driving myself crazy! :crazy2: The funny thing is, I'm the only one obsessing over this trip. My family could care less, but of course they will probably be the first to complain if something goes wrong! ;)
