Thanks for sharing something I am not likely to see. Is this performed before or after people have gone through bag check and turnstiles?

Does "rope drop" happen after this, inside the gates? If I understanfd correctly, rope drop is where they hold people back then lead them to one of the mountains?

Here's the sequence
8:45 - The turnstiles open and guests scan their tickets
8:50 - They start the opening ceremony show
9:00 - They open the tunnels so guest can come into the park and enjoy their day.

We like to see the opening ceremony at MK on our Crystal Palace day. If the park opens at 9, we make an 8:05 reservation, eat by 8:30, take pictures in front of the empty castle, and then watch the opening ceremony from behind. Then we get on the monorail and spend the day at EPCOT.

We're back from the MK. We got a lot accomplished this morning. If you are going to stay at Bay Lake Tower you have to take advantage of it by hitting the MK early (and sometimes late). Lines were non-existent for the first 90 minutes or so after opening.

We are heading back in about 3 hours or so. We've booked Anna in the Pirate League. Pirate face paint and costume. She's more than excited about it. We'll reuse the costume later this year on Pirate Night when we cruise on the Disney Dream in June.

Thanks, Aaron! That's likely to be the only time I get to see the opening ceremony! I didn't even know it existed until recently!

I think sometimes when people say "rope drop" they are referring to the opening of the park in general. They have ropes blocking both tunnels and drop them right after the opening ceremony exactly at the top of the hour.

I have Lisa...The 3 hitchhiking ghosts are still together, but when the doombuggies go in front of the mirror the ghosts are no longer riding in your car with you. They just stand in front of you as your car moves along. It appears to be a temporary effect until they put something permanently in place.

BTW - The new queue line interactive elements are really cool.

Yes it is. The slide is pretty nice. It's not my favorite, but okay. It curves all the way from the top down. It's not real long, but fun. I think the best part of it is how it lights up at night. It has neon lighting all throughout it. The mickey light up at night in red and the rest of the slide in a flickering neon blue.

Huh. I saw a video on-line of the ghosts doing something different. (don't want to ruin the surprise) but it must be in soft runs...it was VERY cool though.
