Adoption Updates

OK guys, start crossing your fingers and sending PD my way! There have been several Travel Approvals today with dates only TEN DAYS before my log in date!!!!!

This is SO early and I'm shocked, I just hope hope hope mine comes too!!

I did get an update from the man that saw Lily a few weeks ago, he wrote me a little more...

"Sun Ying looked fine, healthy, normal, bright eyed. She was in a different room than the others I asked about, only because she was younger. She was very sweet and came right up to me at the door. She seemed quiet, but looked up at me and said "Baba?" in a very cute little voice. She is definitely ready for you to come and get her. One thing I especially noticed this trip was that each room had a couple of bright standouts. Sun Ying was the only one in her room that was memorable. You are going to love her to death. You got a real cutie!"

Sending pixie dust your way! Hoping you get TA VERY soon! We are also adopting a little girl from China, but still have a LONG wait ahead of us! Our LID is 4/3/06!! I am thrilled to be "official", but anxious about the long wait ahead of us!

Lily is beautiful! Congratulations!

Congratulations Sandy!!!

My DH & I are not adopting, but I wanted to join this thread as I am an adopted child. :teeth: Adopted children are special ~ we were CHOSEN! :thumbsup2

No, I'm not an "international" adoption. And I'm now a 34 year old mother of 2 who is very very grateful to *both* of my mothers ~ the one who chose to give birth & the one who chose to be my MOM.

I wish all of you the very very best with your new families :grouphug:
I hope to read the entire thread soon.......

Oh my ... I opened up this thread to say the exact same thing. So, ditto! Bless you all for what you are doing and best wishes with the whole process.

I got to talking to my mom just this weekend about my adoption 36 years ago. She told me a funny story I actually never heard. I lived with another foster mother for 2 months before I was taken by my now-family. Foster mom and my mom met in a church to do the "hand-off." Well guess what? Foster mom kept my clothing! Hands me over buck-naked in February! Naked as....well...the day I was born!

Good luck to you all. I will keep checking back as this is just a topic that interests me. Sandy - I got goosbumps learning about your new daughters. Congratulations!

oh, just imagine you'll soon be holding her and you'll feel those chubby little hands resting on your shoulders and then only you will notice when they slip around, you'll feel them touch together at the back of your neck and your heart is so happy it almost hurts because you are now and forever her mommy and she is your little girl....I hope that moment comes soon!
Hugs and Pixie dust,
Cindy

Can I join you girls?!?!

I am so happy to have found this thread! People that are adopting and they love Disney, too! It's a double whammy! My kind of people! :thumbsup2

I am happy to report that after 2 years of terrible infertility treatments and 1.5 years of waiting to adopt domestically we have finally been chosen by a lovely birthmother and her boyfriend. She is due at the end of June and we are just beside ourselves with joy! We know she's having a girl and we chose her name with the help of the birthparents this past weekend when we saw them...

They are an amazing, very young couple that just aren't able or ready to parent at this point and while I am cautious because they can change their minds, we feel very confident in this situation.

It's been fun to finally shop and my friends are organizing a baby shower for me! I never thought all these things would ever happen!

I am of course already planning a trip to Disney next fall! That will be the best! Disney with my daughter!

While I think it's pretty funny that you'd be handed over naked, that is exactly the way we were given our children in Russia. We had to strip them down from their orphanage clothes and dress them in clothes that we had brought. Our kids went from awful, mismatched clothing to Benetton outfits. We still have the skirt that DD wore that day and then wore home. Some day, her DD can wear it, too.

Luv2tvl, welcome to our group! Now that you're a member, we MUST know when the birth mom goes into labor... and you MUST post pictures of your little girl when she's born. Congratulations!

My son came home from Korea almost 18 years ago. When he was handed to me at the airport he was dressed in girls clothes. Yup, right down to white lace socks!

My youngest son came home from The Phillipines 15 years ago, dressed like a boy BUT with a pair of those white lace socks!

The same kind on both boys! :rotfl: :rotfl:

Congrats mommy to be!! We adopted domestically about a year ago, Noah turned 1 in March and we got him at 6 days old! Very exciting time for you guys! And I just noticed you are in Omaha too!! We just moved back here in Feb. This is home and we were living out of state when we adopted. But very cool! Hi neighbor! ;) :wave2:

Ds was 2 and came home to us with only a few items that were too small in a trashbag. On the 2nd night when ds was excited about getting his jammies out of his dresser drawer and remembered which one they were in, dh broke down and cried and vowed that he'd never have his clothes in a trashbag again...pretty easy promise to keep, LOL.

(Now he's almost 6 and when he wanted the $45 hideous tacky bright red Nike's in the store the other day, I....almost caved, LOL.)

Sometimes you just have to laugh.

Hi yourself neighbor. I'm a Omaha transplant (originally from Iowa), but I really do like it here. We are building a new house and living in an apartment because our current house sold in TWO days. Of course during all the meyhem is whem we got the phone call that we'd been picked! Never a dull moment!

happybratpack - Good luck to you!! Keeping my fingers and toes crossed for you! Keep us posted....

Hi guys,

I was introduced to the world of the 100 good wishes quilt (thanks Brandie ;) ). I would love to send some swatches out to anyone who is making one so please let me know if you are interested.

Thanks!!!

I know a batch of referrals came out for China...any news on Lily yet HBP?

I'm in if anyone wants to swap quilt squares too. :)

Nothing for me today...Travel Approvals are arriving for ALL AROUND my LID but nada yet. I'm dying here. Seriously, I don't know how anyone can possibly stand to be around me lately. I'm fine one minute, I'm a raging psycho the next, then I'm crying, etc etc etc. Just not pretty.

So anyday now I should get the TA, then within 72 hours I'll have the Consulate Date so then I'll leave approx 12-13 days before the CA.

Uuuuughhhhhhhh

Anyone else have any news?!?

Maryann

I remember how hard it was to be so close to the end of the process yet still so very far away! What you're feeling is completely normal. But you're almost there and you'll soon be united with your daughter. :goodvibes I remember when you lost your guatamalan daughter...seems like so long ago! Look how far you've come now - you're almost there!!!. :thumbsup2
