Have we already discussed this....I think I saw on FB and not the DIS - that Disney is phasing out giving free plastic bags with purchases? That you'd have to either put it in your own bag or buy one of their reusables?

I saw that come up on WDWMagic and it's annoying enough that Disney hasn't brought back the service that ships merchandise purchases to your hotel room but now you'll have to buy a bag to carry your purchases? I feel like a lot of people will see this as another cost cutting measure rather than "for the environment" as Disney will probably claim.

Disclaimer that I actually do like those reusable bags! They hold up surprisingly great for grocery shopping. I just don't want to be forced to buy one to buy merchandise in a theme park or bring a larger backpack.

They tried to do that years ago when they brought out the reusable bags you can buy. It kinda fizzled. But now that they offer Mobile Checkout and they give you a clear bag I think it might come back.

I did hear recently they are talking about it again. Perhaps step one is to offer you a clear bag (no Disney fun) or purchase a reusable bag. For security reasons and theft prevention I don't think it wise to offer nothing.

I did buy some of the reusable when they first came out, all sizes. The small make great gift bags. I use the medium and large all the time. I take large volumes to post office and those big ones are great.

I thought the same thing about theft, but I also have a ton of the reusables. I just bought a Vera Bradley Disney one, too It gave me an excuse to buy one!

Oh when we are at Universal we get those giant pink donuts. Usually end of day, get inside Convenience Store as they are fresh from freezer, and take to go. A bit heavier but good!
FYI, for anyone who didn't know and needs to. The Simpsons donut and the donuts that the Joffrey's Coffee stands sell at WDW, and probably other places are made by Donut King . The one in Minneola is closest to my Dad's house, so when I visit we drive over there and get a dozen donuts. They also have several large donut options, fritters, cinnamon rolls. All good, and more bang for your buck than theme park prices, if you have a car and are in the area.

We have looked at Regent too. The listed price is $$$$, but once you look at all thats included it’s really not that much different than the more mainstream lines. You just pay it all up front instead of little bits here and there. Especially if you add in excursions to some place like Alaska where each excursion is $200+ a person. Our issues is having a 9 year old with us. Aside from summer Alaska and Med sailings there arent any kids activities and probably very few kids in general. I would love to do Northern Europe at some point with someone.
I've been on the Regent mailing list for about 4 years now. It's part of our retirement goals. And I'll gladly only drink water in restaurants and not pay for sauces to splurge on their cruises.

Yeah they backed off on doing that but not before 1) raising the price on the 2) causing confusion like none other in the stores about being required or not. So many mixed reports of plastic bags given out no problem and then others being told to purchase a bag. As for your security I actually remember seeing people told to just carry it out

It wouldn't surprise me for them to try again but if it were me I would wait until a year or two when people see Disney in a more positive light, they are just now trying to get back into people's good graces for pete's sake.

Okay please enlighten me, the abbreviations list and google did not help but I am not sure what YAGE is?

Yet Another Grand Exit. The offended/ angry poster makes a big show of “leaving” the thread, but often keeps coming back to interject one more thing. 😂. I learned about a YAGE right here on the Dis a loooong time ago. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen one.

Portillos!!! I grew up in the burbs of Chicago and was THRILLED when they opened in Orlando. (Hot Portillos take though, I do not like cake shakes....)

Oh SAME, would be a dealbreaker for me for sure but so funny to read about second hand.

Oooh I love tajin and pineapple (and watermelon too!) I will absolutely be trying this ASAP.
Another Chicago area native who is THRILLED that Portillo’s has expanded. When I first moved here, I used to joke with my family that I went back to visit 70% because I missed them and 30% because I missed the food near Chicago.

I love ice cream, gelato of course, Dole Whips all day, but a lot of milk shakes are not for me.

The thread about being moved from BWI to BC had multiple YAGE. He finally really did move on. I think he was just worn out lol.

I posted on that one a few times but had to stay away, I was afraid I was gonna say something to earn points. 🤦🏻‍♀️

I'm glad to see this! DS17 is going to Japan next year. This year, it's France (with a touch of Germany) and South Korea.
I've been to both Japan and South Korea (and other Asian countries). Honestly, I loved South Korea the most - great people in both places but in South Korea at least the younger people seemed less formal than the Japanese, more willing to open up and have some fun. My nephew who was a late teenager at the time and who is tall, thin and with slightly wavy hair that fell in front of his face kept getting stopped for photos with teen girls - they thought he looked like Justin Bieber. Just a lot of fun all around.

Why did you have to go and tell me that? You all know I just got finished GOOGLING for the Donut King locations!!!

I am from the home of Krispy Kreme and back in my teens there was only one downtown and no stores sold them at all. We would sell them in high school and I would drive downtown and fill every crevice of my car with hot fresh donuts. By time I got home at least a dozen were gone! When they are hot it's like cotton candy, melt in your mouth.

But we love the PINK Joffrey's, Blue & White are okay if we must. Simpson's much bigger but also heavier. But still yummy in the tummy.

Donut King ..... :surfweb:

I noticed bags were scarce during our May/June 2022 trip. I'm talking about not getting a bag after buying multiple round SW soda bottles.

Bags were back during our October and December trips.

Will gladly go back to Disney to check on the bags.

That is why I say only offer clear see through bags. Covers the "free" and security end of it and people who insist on cute bags can buy.

I second that emotion .... and I'm back!

None of those places have fried zucchini that I am aware of.

our carl's hasn't had it in a couple of years. i stopped associating with them after we went in to do a rare in restaurant dine about 6 months ago and they had the audacity to sell me (knowing it was for dine-in) a taco salad when they didn't have any utensils. they brought me my salad and when i asked for a fork they said 'oh, we've been out of those for about a week now':sad2: i said 'could you have told me that when i ordered?' to which they replied 'oh we don't do that or people cancel the orders on them'😡 well, that order got sent back and refunded.
