I just learned my DS/7 needs tubes put in his ears, and also needs his adenoids removed.
The specialist believes this will help him hear better (weve noticed if you talk slightly softer than normal, he cant hear you). They tested behind the eardrum, and hearing is fine, but in front of it he has decreased hearing.
I know this guys a specialist, but I still have concerns (and questions I have not had the opportunity to ask yet b/c 1) my husband took DS to the specialist today, and 2) we just found this out a couple of hours ago). But in the last 2 hours, I have not read anywhere online that removal of the adenoids does in fact improve hearing. Does anyone have any experience with this, &/or is there a doctor in the house who can put my mind at ease?? I'm very queazy when it comes to anything medical...
