Adding people to your existing reservation?

Can I add people to my existing reservation even if they don't want the dining plan? I called disney and he CM said its possible. If this is true I'm going to be so happy. But now when free dining gets offered we are going to upgrade and so will my guests at that time and we will use the rest of their meals because they are only staying 4 outta our 8 nights. Did I just make everyone's head explode? Lol. Makes sense right?

Only if you add them after you check in!

Prior to check in if you have a package every guest on the reservation must have the same tickets and dining plan. Once you check in then you can add a guest for room only. We do this occasionally as my sister sometimes joins us for a day or two after we check in and has an AP and dining discounts so she doesn't need/want tickets or dining.

Keep in mind though that depending on when they arrive guests added after check in may not be in time to book DME for the first leg and each adult after 2 is subject to an extra nightly charge. $15 per night at the values, $20 at the moderates and $25 at the deluxe resorts.

With free dining, our experience was that all guests must be present at check in to receive the dining credits so keep that in mind when booking the additional guests.

If you add them to your reservation before arrival, then they must have the same tickets and dining plan that the rest of you have. And yes, if they do not want to use the credits or they are not staying the whole time, the rest of you can use their credits.
