Adding one night via waitlist - so confused!

Looking for some help from the experts.

We had a week long trip booked in January (Sunday to Saturday) at our home resort, the Polynesian, in a garden view studio. My mom has wanted to try BLT, but I had no luck last week making a change at the 7 month mark. Shockingly, this morning, I was able to book Monday- Saturday in a lake view studio.

Here’s my question - if I want to waitlist for that Sunday night, do I wait list the one night or the whole week including the Sunday night? If it is just the one night, and the room category is the same, can Member Services link the reservation in such a way we won’t have to swap rooms?

If we don’t get the night, its not a big deal. Just want to make sure I at least make the smartest possible attempt.

just the one night, and yes, member services can combine them. they may even do it automatically!

Thank you! It seemed so simple - but I seem to become confused very easily when I start going down the rabbit hole of DVC math and point possibilities!
