Tell my i shlould or shouldnt let my brother put my name on his deed to his house that is in his name and his x girl friends name , reason , he doesnt want it to go soley to her if he dies? would i become liable for monies owed and taxes?
DO NOT DO IT....That means you will be owning the house too. It will affect your income taxes (interest) what about your credit rating, will he be making the payments on time? What about foreclosure? I suggestion is to stay away from the deed. bad bad idea.....let him work out his own mess. why doesn't he just sell his interest to the ex-girl? Or the other way around?
