adding disney dining plan on after package money due

I'm currently booked for a June trip with AAA. I did not receive a free dining pin, and I can't decide what to do about dining yet. I think i've heard on here that you can decide up to 3 days before you arrive as to adding it on or not. Is that correct? Have any of you added it on after your vacation package money was due? If I do add it on after May 5 (when my money is due), would I still do it through AAA since I booked with them? Or at that point would I just call disney direct? Anyone know?

Yes, it is correct. You can make changes to your package 72 horus before arrival.

You should know that there is a change fee of $50 that Disney assesses for changing a package after the 45 day mark. However, they don't charge it if you're upgrading (adding to the package cost) so you should be OK. But they seem to also have an extra fee of $15 if you make any changes to the package at all, upgrade or downgrade, within 14 days of arrival. So to avoid that you should add your dining plan more than 2 weeks before you arrive.

If you booked through AAA as a travel agent, then AAA must make the changes. You won't be able to do it, because Disney considers AAA to be the owner of the reservation.
