Hi,
We will be travelling to WDW in December.
We are staying in ASMu for 14 nights and this was booked with Virgin holidays (UK). I bought our 10 day MYW hoppers from Ticketmania with the mousesavers offer.
Right, my question is, can i add the dining package, or is this only an option when booking direct with WDW? It would be great to know that all our meals were paid for in advance!

Any help much appreciated!

You may purchase the dining as an option with a package, which means your hotel, park tickets, and dining must all be bundled together. The problem is there aren't really any discounts available if you buy a package - you must pay full price for your room. Your dining is the same number of nights as your hotel stay, but you do not need to have park tickets for the same number of days. So if you wanted to book your hotel, dining, and a one day ticket that would work. Everyone in your room must have the same options, so you would all have to choose the dining and you would all have to have park tickets with the package even if you purchase discount tickets from somewhere else. Does that make sense? Good luck! We think the dining is a great value!

Not 100% with you there!!
Do you mean, if when we arrive we buy 1 day hoppers at check-in, we could add the dining plan for 14 days as well?? Or does it all have to be booked in advance?

I believe it must be booked in advance, but I'm not certain.

To qualify as a "package" you must have all three things - room, tickets, dining. The number of nights on your hotel automatically determines the number of days of dining credits, but your park ticket does not have to be for the same amount of days as your hotel - it may be more days or less. Since you are buying your hotel from a tour company and your tickets from another source Disney won't recognize your current arrangements as a "package". I am not sure if they will allow you to add on one day passes when you arrive and then add on dining. You might want to give the tour company a call.

The one day basic pass costs about $60, but you could easily save more than that over the duration of your stay if you have the dining plan. Sorry if I am not explaining this very well!

From what I understand the dining plan has to be added in to the package at least 48 hours prior to arrival.
I know the dining plan cannot be added in at check-in.

since it's not free, i image you could add it before you leave, you would just have to pay for it, realize that probably half of the restaurants are located in the parks.... for those days not in the park you could eat at one of the hotels or DTD

I would check with your agent at Virgin....WDW will not add anything to a reservation booked through any travel agent/agency... since you booked your room with Virgin, their agent should be able to add on a 1 day MYW ticket and the dining plan for the 14 nights for you.....however if you booked the room at a discounted rate they may not be available to add the package....just depends on the rate code they used.
