Adding DDP on arrival

I received one of the 40% coupon codes in the mail today but it is for room only. Can I add the dining plan when I arrive at the resort????? If so, is it the same price of 38.99 per adult per day?

From the Dining Plan FAQ:

The Dining Plan is only available as an add-on to qualifying Magic Your Way Packages (or to DVC reservations) -- it cannot be added to just any reservation.

The Dining Plan can be added to qualifying packages until shortly before your arrival date. The number of days varies depending on circumstances, so the recommendation is to be sure that you've made final arrangements at least five days prior.

Why not ask if you can add on the dining plan when you book? If they won't do it then, they won't do it later.

In order to use the DDP, you need to book a full-priced room (or a AAA discounted) room. Other discounted rooms do not qualifiy for the DDP.

I was able to add DP to my 40% off discounted room.

They have a code for the package with dining. Discount is for the room only, however.

A few months ago, I would have held the standard "rack rate or AAA" line, but I've seen several postings to this effect.

The only way to tell for sure is to try it as joybeth did.

I was able to use my 40% off code for a package with dining for both of my trips this year (May and December). You may have to (gently) push for it but it can be done.

The first agent (when booking for May) told me "no problem" and put me on hold while he went to get assistance to find the proper code for the package versus the room only.

The second agent was a sure that it was for room only but when I pointed out that I had already booked a package once, she put me on hold and found the right code. She did thank me for being nice about it and being patient since I was on hold for 20 minutes.

I still can't believe my luck - 40% off the room plus the dining plan - talk about a couple of trips made in heaven!

I already had package booked, when I heard about the discount, all I did was call & ask can I use code xxx, towards my package (already had the DDP on my package)..It took the CM a minute to check & he said yes you can, the way I figured it to be is I saved apx. 45.00/night/room (POP - 3 rooms) so we are basically getting POP for what 48- 50.00/night I think!!
