Adding days to ticket before leaving home??

I wonder if you just got someone who didn't know about price bridging versus there being a difference with upgrading at the resort.
The system they use at the resorts is different than the system they use at the parks. Resort CM's aren't trained on bridging, and it's not the same, simple process they use in the parks.

I agree - if I weren't on this board I'd never have known about price bridging. A friend told me about Undercover Tourist, so I knew I could get tickets discounted there. I have six 5-day passes I bought several years ago that I plan to use in 2018 or 2019. They'll be upgraded to park hoppers and probably have a few days added. I'm guessing I paid about $100 less than the current gate price so that's a big chunk of change I'll have saved (especially once they raise prices a few more times, which I assume they will do).

1. Yes.
2. No.
3. See #9 on my map below. That's the ticket booths and Guest Relations. Either will work for you, ALSO, you can do this at the booths at the TTC/MK Parking lot.

Thanks so much!!

The stories of CMs not knowing how to "price-bridge" are legend on these boards.
Always know ahead of time exactly what the cost should be to upgrade a ticket.
(You can ask here. Lots of experienced posters can help.)
Then, if you happen to get a CM who offers an incorrect price,
just nicely ask to speak with a supervisor.
If still no joy, nicely decline the transaction, and go to another ticket location.

Wow! Tons of good info here. I had no idea about the price bridging. I purchased 4 day tickets for 2 adults and 4 kids back in January from a disney travel agent. I called Disney a month ago to add a day and talked with two different CMs, emailed two CMs, plus my travel agent all told me I could not add a day through Disney but had to wait until we got to the parks on our first day.... Just for the record.
How can I figure out what my "bridge price" should be?

I tried to upgrade park tickets by phone last month and was told NO. And I tried a couple of times - I had 2 tickets (2 day) and a room only reservation. My plan all along was to upgrade to 10 days before making FP+. Well, no go - it was a choice between buying new 10 day tickets ahead or only getting 2 days worth of FP+ ahead. I ended up buying new ones. Not sure when I'll get to use the old 2 day ones now.

Have a great trip!

For all tickets that are eligible for "price bridge" upgrading, (which includes all Magic Your Way tickets) it doesn't matter what you PAID for the ticket.
The way "price bridging" works is simple.

Subtract the CURRENT (when you are at WDW) price of the ticket of the exact same kind as you HAVE,
from the CURRENT (when you are at WDW) price of the ticket that you WANT...
And, pay that difference price for the upgrade.

(Plus, 6.5% tax on that difference price.)

I was able to upgrade stand-alone tickets purchased last year on the phone before we went. The first person I talked to said I couldn't but I called back and the person I talked to changed our 6 day tickets to 7. This was 2 months after originally purchased. They basically cancelled and reissued the tickets and only charged the difference about $10 for each ticket. These were purchased from Disney but they were stand alone.
