Soooo we're about to book our summer vacation for next year & aren't sure if DS will be able to join us at all or not. Is it easier to include him now & take him off later or if we find out he CAN join us at some point just call and add him? Or is it a 50/50 thing either way??

It's not hard to add him. It's not hard to take him off. Same process either way, as I'm assuming you're booking a space large enough to have him there either way.

Yeah, of course. We just use studios but they sleep 4. I just wasn't sure if it was more complicted either way. We probably won't know if he can join us until right before the trip so I didn't know if it mattered. And IF can join us it may only be for the weekend. We'll be driving down on this trip but he would likely fly and need to use DME... So many ifs at this point. I actually wondered if I could just book it with him on there & if he ends up not coming does it really matter if we take him off or not?

If you aren't doing a dining plan, I'd just add him now and not worry if he can't make it. If he does come, won't you want to make FP+ reservations at 60 days, anyway?

Oh, Yeah. Hadn't thought about those yet. Miss the old days when trip planning wasn't so complicated. You're right. I'll just add him now & hope he can join us for 2 or 3 days. And if he doesn't then oh well. Shouldn't really matter to anyone else.

Give sending an email from the member website a try. Tell them who you want to add, adult, address, they will make the change and send you a confirming email. Check the reservation to verify the change.

Nope.

I had DH and DS on my "cousins trip" reservation in February, never took them off, and it made no difference. Confused my cousin a little bit when the checkin person mentioned them, but Disney didn't care.

(we had no dining plan of course)

Thanks all. I think in the end it will be simpler to go ahead & include him from the get-go then remove him & cancel any of his FP's later when we know for sure. I assume I could just cancel HIS FP's and not affect ours, right? I'd hate to screw up all of ours too.... Of course all this is MONTHS away still....just always gotta be planning a trip!! Or two... :teeth:

We forgot to add our son to our OKW reservation for last Sept. He is a CM and lives in Windermere, but will often come over to pick us up or ride the bus with us. Plus with F&W, he could have a magic band to charge to Mom & Dad's account (CMs don't make that much). I asked at check in to add him and the CM at the desk suggested to just add him as a day guest (meaning no Magic Band) because it would mean cancelling and rebooking the reservation. (Seriously, Disney should be able to change the guests in the room with cancelling and rebooking - but we're talking Disney IT, right?) Cancelling and rebooking means a messed up points account most of the time. So add your guests now and not at the desk when you check in. And if you are getting the dining plan, suck up the extra cost or drop it all together. And put that money on a Disney gift card (and use that to pay for your dining).

YIKES! I went ahead & added him on when I booked it. No point messing around with it. Decided no harm no foul if he doesn't join us. And no dining plan for us. Breakfasts "in" and TIW when possible....
