Adding a person to a BOG FP????

I have booked a FP+ for my husband and I.

My question is--we are coming to Disney to visit our son who is working there for a year-he is not staying with us so he is not on our room reservation.

Is there any way to add him to my dining reservation or am I out of luck because he is not staying onsite with us? Can I ask when we check in on Friday for our meal?

He is touring the parks with us that day so I was hoping we could try BOG out-he has never been able to eat there yet either!

You can't technically add anybody who isn't staying in your room, because the FP is offered only to resort guests. You can ask when you check in if he can accompany you, but that's about it.

Anyone ever have any luck asking to add one to thier party when Checking in?

Update- we were able to have our son join us- we just explained when we checked in for the fp that we had a third person.
