We'll be arriving on the late afternoon of Monday, May 16 and leaving around 1:00 p.m on Friday, May 20. We've got 3-day Hoppers, which we'll use on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. If we feel the need to go back into the parks for a 1/2 day on Friday, is it possible to upgrade our tickets? I don't think we'll even consider it if we have to buy separate single-day tickets.

That said, does anybody have any ideas on how to spend a morning other than going into the parks? We weren't planning to rent a car so anything fairly local would be good.

You can upgrade, but you'll have to do it before the end of your third day, so you'd have to upgrade them on Thursday at the latest, you can't come back on Friday morning and try. Also, you'd be paying the difference between what you paid and the full ticket window price of a four-day hopper, so if you bought online from Disneyland.com for a discount, you'll end up having to pay the difference between what you paid and what they charge at the window for a 4-day, which will be more than the online price. It sounds like you already have the 3-day parkhoppers, though, but I'll just let others reading this know that if you think there is a good possibility you will want an extra day and the online rate isn't too much more, you're better off buying it in advance online than upgrading at the parks.

If you don't want to upgrade, you could always use your last morning to sleep in, get packed and then go to DTD for some last minute shopping and lunch. That's what i would probably do anyway.

Yes, but as sonnyjane said, you will have to do it on Thursday, they won't do it if you go back Friday morning to upgrade. We did it, it was $10 to add a day, not a big deal at all. :)

I just went to Disneyland's site and it looks like if you bought your parkhoppers online for the discount rate of $186, the cost of a 4-day hopper is $231 at the parks, so it will be $45 per person to upgrade. The cost of a one-day, one-park ticket is $76, so it's less than that if you decide to add on a day. I agree with Lavender though that it might just be a good day to relax and hit up DTD, or maybe do a character meal that morning outside of the parks.

Good input; it all helps. We did buy on-line at a rate of $180.00 for the adults and $160.00 for the kids. At least now we can weigh the cost v.s. how badly we need the extra 1/2 day, which will depend on how the first 3 days go. We've already got our character meals booked and pre-paid, so I doubt we'll be adding another. Also, I'm the anti-shopper, so DTD doesn't hold much allure. Thanks again!

You've only got half of the info. Last year we wanted to do this very same thing. I called Disney Travel (where we bought our tickets and booked our room) and told them we already recieved our travel package and wanted to add one more day and night. The CM took care of the hotel. Even though our paperwork said our check in day was the next day, she said we wouldn't have a problem. If we did, to give her a call and she would take care of it. With reguards to the tickets, she said go to the Disney Travel office NOT main ticket window. It was under $30 TOTALL to upgrade all of our tickets.

So, if I bought my tickets online through disney and wanted to upgrade(say an extra day) then I can go someplace else other than the ticket window? Any chance I can upgrade before I went on our trip? I already have our tickets in hand.

any ideas what it would cost to upgrade 5 days to 6 if the park hoppers were bought with airmiles?
