Adding a day to tickets?

Thank you for your help. So unless there is an increase in price before we go in July, I think we are okay to go to DTD and do the upgrade. We wanted to do them on Saturday, because that gives us more time to do the FP+ for that additional day. We are not doing a park until Monday. Thanks again, I will watch for any increases.
Even if there is a price increase, your tickets are direct Disney tickets and can't be brought up to current price by entering a theme park. So you might as well do your upgrade at DTD as planned, increase or not. A price increase might be $10-$15 or so. Let's hope there isn't one. Enjoy your trip!

So they can add a day prior to using them at a park?

I think I'm confusing myself now.

Disney tickets are very confusing. If you have tickets that you bought from Disney Online, and you haven't arrived for your trip yet, you can't change them to add days. You can only buy more tickets. This is usually an expensive idea, except for adding a single day ticket for day 2 or a single day ticket for day 3. Otherwise one should wait to arrive at WDW and do an upgrade.

When you arrive in WDW with your tickets, and want to add days, you can do that inside or outside a theme park. Some tickets, like old resort package tickets, if they are worth less than gate price, they can be used to enter a theme park, and that will bring them up to current price. Other tickets, like Disney Online tickets, if they are worth less than gate price, entering a theme park will not bring them up to current gate price. As I said to last poster, their tickets were from Disney Online, so they might as well upgrade them outside a park gate because it wouldn't change how much they were worth. The same goes for your tickets, too, from Disney Online.

Next trip I'm buying any and all days I think we might use, lol.

Yes, the other ppl can add a day at DTD prior to entering a park. I've only pointed out which tickets this mattered for, money-wise. Their tickets didn't matter.

It's probably good to buy what you might use. Then you can get your FP+ done. Days 1-3 cost a lot of money, but at day 4, Disney tickets only cost $10.65 per day to add a day, up to max 10 days. If you don't use "day 5" (for example), you only lost $10.65.
