Hubby and I took a trip with the kids to Disney World in March of this year. To say the least, that trip was chaotic. It was me and my 7 year old daughter and 9 year old Son and hubby and his 10 and 11 year old sons and hubby and I's 6 month old son.

Hubby and I (more me than him) decided that we needed a vacation from our vacation. We are going back with the baby who will be 1 the week we go in August.

Here is the crazy part. That's two Disney trips in about 5 months. We haven't even gotten to Disney World for this trip and I am already planning the next one for February of next year. Anxiously awaiting prices to come out for February 2015. I am afraid I am addicted to planning vacations.

I am pricing cruises, trips to Tennessee and another trip to Disney World. I don't think it's necessarily Disney World that I am addicted to although I do LOVE it. I think it's just the idea of vacationing. Please tell me I am not the only one crazy enough to plan vacations like this.

You're not alone! I'm the same way. We took our first trip to Disney last October...our kids were 7 & 9. Needless to say, I fell in love with it! Being there & seeing all the wonderful fall & Halloween decorations & going to MNSSHP.....I instantly knew we HAD to come back for Christmas time! So, I started planning our Christmas Disney trip shortly after we got home. We're going the first week of December & we can't wait! Going to MVMCP & seeing the snow on Main St! Eeeeeep!!!!

After we booked that trip, I got to thinking about how next year is our 15yr wedding anniversary......so, we booked our first Disney cruise on the Fantasy in October 2015!! That is going to be a big surprise trip for our kids.....as was our first Disney trip last October. =0)

So far this year we've gone to Wilderness at the Smokies in January, St. Louis in April, Dollywood/Splash Country/Gatlinburg in June, and St. Louis again over the 4th of July!

Now I'm thinking how our 15yr anniversary is at the end of May....our cruise isn't until October..... So, we are looking into an all inclusive tropical trip for JUST THE TWO OF US! My hubby and I have never had even one night away together since we've been married, so that's a pretty exciting thought! Even before we had kids, we always vacationed with other people.

So.....I totally understand where your trip planning love comes from. I think for me personally, having a trip planned gives us all something really fun to look forward to. It helps us make it through work & it helps the kids get through school. Because we all know our fun break is coming!! =0)

I cherish all the memories we make on these trips. It's what our kids will think back on & remember when they're grown. One of my favorite things is when I overhear my kids talking about trips we've taken.... That's what it's all about! =0)

I've got a looooooong list future trips in my head! No end in sight! I've got my eye on an Amtrak vacation to Niagara Falls in the next year or so. SO MANY cool vacation packages on the Amtrak site! My kids would LOVE to ride a train....heck, my hubby & I would too! Love the thought of not having to drive anywhere!

I could go on & on! But, I'll stop now.

Oh! We live in Tennessee....20min from downtown Nashville. =0) Hope you enjoy your Tennessee trip!!!!

You are definitely among your own kind here in the disboards my friend lol. I seriously have like 10 different Disney vacations planned out in my head for years to come and each one is different. I love to pretend plan and research for each trip. Its like a sick hobby of mine. I cannot imagine not always planning for the next trip and I am always in serious planning mode for the next one as we are traveling home from our present one. Can't help it. It's a way of life for me :)

Don't forget if you are planning WDW vacations close together you can save a bundle on tix by buying an Annual Pass. :wave2:

Me too!! Love to plan. We just returned from WDW a couple of weeks ago. And I'm trying to plan next years vacation. My DH gets no rest from my planning. I drive him CRAZY!!

I've been planning our next trip (and theoretical future trips) since we got back ;) I figure with almost 2 years worth of planning it should be pretty amazing LOL

I love planning vacations too! I've already started planning for Universal in January 2016 and London/Paris in July 2017!

Right there with you. We went to San Diego in April and hubby and I are headed to St. Thomas next week, then family WDW trip at Thanksgiving. Looking into Hawaii for a Family trip for next summer, NYC weekend and cruise/WDW in 2016. We plan a lot though b/c we take advantage of using miles/points and those are often first come/first serve. We've started spending less on kids for Christmas and birthdays so we can travel more.

Add me to the list too! Our Disney vacation isn't but October and. I'm already thinking about next summer's trip and our 25th anniversary trip in three years. Plus, my sister is letting me plan her May 2015 WDW trip. :) I almost love the planning more than the actual trip!

The first trip I took to DW was in 2008. We went during Christmas time and I fell in love when I saw the castle all lit up. I didn't realize it was a Christmas thing and was kind of disappointed when we went in March that it wasn't lit up the same. I guess that just gives me another reason to plan another trip for Christmas time.

I agree that planning a trip gives you something to look forward to. I guess that's why I like it so much.

I completely get this!!!! I told a friend that I may have to find a vacation planners anonymous group. I am constantly trying to think of different places to vacation. I think the thing that trips us up the most on going more places is the plane tickets. The prices are crazy.

Hubby and I were just talking about out of the country trips this weekend. I told him if I were to go anywhere out of the US it would be Paris!!!!

WDW sparked the mad planning bug in me.

in 2010, we took our first trip to WDW - just a quick long weekend. I have always been an intense researcher, and in looking stuff up for the trip, soon fell in love with the vast amounts of research required to visit WDW.

I then started researching other trips in the same way - but there is nothing to the depths and breadth of information available for WDW visitors.

Now I love planning and researching every trip to death. I have detailed itineraries planned for simple daytrips. One of the things I didn't like about our Disney cruise was that there was so little to plan! I ended up not researching as much as I normally do and we were taken aback by a few things and I was a little frustrated when I didn't know the answer to various questions that presented themselves.

LOVE the planning!!

Totally agree. I find much joy in the planning part....it's like extending the vacation!

Think I am about to book our first cruise!!!! We like to get out of town for Mardi Gras which is what we did this year taking the kids to Disney World.

Never been on a cruise before and I'm very nervous about pressing the "accept" button and putting $500 down on a deposit.

It doesn't seem like there is as much to do on a cruise as there is at DW but everyone I talked to said the kids will definitely not get bored on a cruise. I took them to their first trip to DW and now I get to take them on their first cruise. They go on trips to Branson, MI just about every year with their dad so while I do plan on taking them to Tennessee eventually, I think it's going to be a cruise this time around.
