I am having some trouble with the search function and I would like to clarify a couple of things.

You can purchase sold out resort packages directly from DVC, but it must be in 160 point increments.

Also, you may have to wait-list to get them.

In order to get smaller point contracts you must go through a reseller.

Are these statements accurate?

Mostly...but a couple of clarifications:

Your initial purchase, if it's through Disney must be at least 160 points. Once you buy 160 points, however, further increments can be as small as 25 points (if you don't finance) or 50 points (if you do finance).

Whether you have to W/L to buy a sold-out resort depends on a lot of factors...it seems there's usually a W/L for most BCV points, regardless of use year...but when we added a 50-point BCV contract (to our master SSR contract//Feb UY), we only had to wait 19 days...it seems OKW, BWV, & WLV are usually available right away, altho you may find you have to wait, depending on the UY...if it's your first purchase and you don't care about your UY you very likely won't have to wait at all (except possibly for BCV).

And yes, to get a first contract for fewer than 160 points you have to go thru resale...but you can add on thru Disney for less than 160 points...

Once you're a member, you can get smaller contracts through Disney as little as 25 points.

The one thing that is throwing me off is your thread title. Are you already a member looking to add on?

You are correct. My first statement should have been more specific about a minimum initial purchase of 160 pts.

And the crux of the questions is from the perspective of someone wanting to add on.

To be more specific, say I own at OKW and want to add on, I can add a minimum of 25 pts directly through DVC, right?

Would that also apply if I wanted to add on, say 50 pts, at another resort?

I think I have it, but I want to be certain.

Yes, if you are an OKW owner, you could add on as few as 25 points (or 26, 27, 28, etc.) at any DVC resort, subject to availability.
