Hi all! Just got home from bcv and feel I need a few more points. I really only want 30 that will give us a total of 260 and fit our needs well. (We also own a condo on the gulf side, so more points than that would not make sense for us) We have owned since 2002 and love our "home", so here's my question..... Are there small BCV resale contracts out there? If so, by the time I pay the closing costs am I better going through Disney? I would like the same use year. Ok... I think I'm asking too much. But please let me know what you think. Thank you.

For such small contracts, it is usually easier and not that much more to go through Disney.

For example, BCV is $115 right now through Disney. That makes it $3450. Even if you get one resale, with the same UY as you and for $85/ppt (small contracts go for more), that would be around a savings of $900. Closing costs would bring that down to around $600.

To me, for that little, worth the ease of going through Disney. And, you can use your Disney Visa (if you have one) and get the reward dollars as well as 6 months, 0% interest.

Good luck!

I think I got lost on your figures Sandisw. I think of it this way. It would be $2550 resale plus closing costs of $312 or so for a total of $2862 resale. That would make it a $600 difference between going resale versus buying direct.

We have been looking for a small 50 point contract for AKV for our use year for 3 or 4 months and finally gave up and bought direct through Disney. Sure we realize we paid extra. But really how many months would it really have been worth waiting for that possible resale contract. For us, we tried to by resale and finally bought direct. In the future when addonitis strikes, we'll probably look a few weeks at the resale lists and then call our guide at Disney when we can't find one that meets our needs.

Another benefit of buying direct is, depending on your use year, you might get "free" 2009 points.

Yes, thank you!! I meant to say that resale would be a SAVINGS of $900, before closing costs, bringing it down to around $600. I fixed my original post so others won't be confused.

Thank you for actually saying you edited your original post. As I read your last post, I'm thinking, "Didn't she just say that?" Thanks for confusion alleviation. :thumbsup2

Ok, new consideration to my original question.... If I have a Feb. use year, would I be able to bank any of my new 2010 points? Provided I buy them in the next month?

Yes, and, in most cases, when you add on a new contract after the banking deadline (through Disney), they will waive it and allow banking. I was going to add on new points in May (with my June UY) and was told I would still be able to bank them.

Good luck!!!
