I have a Dec. UY. If I do a add on in June 09 at AKL will i get 08 and 09 points with my purchase or just 09 points? Thanks.

With an add-on you will get all current points. MS has also been allowing members to bank points even past the banking deadline.

If you were to purchase the add-on today, you'd still get December, 2007 Use Year points and could bank them into your 2008 Use Year. If you purchase in June, 2009 you will get the 08 points in June and the 09 points in December. If the add-on is for Kidani there won't be any 12/07 points - but I think you would still get points from the 12/08 Use Year.

When you add on through Disney they start you off with a full set of current UY points. In June 2009 you will be in your Dec 2008 UY so your contract will start with 2008 UY points.

ETA: Disney does sometimes run out of current UY points, particularly if you are adding on close to the end of your UY.

Yes if DVC has Feb 2008 UY points available, your BCV add-on would begin with your 2008 UY. MS has been allowing people to bank the points they get with an add-on even if they are past their banking deadline.

Your MF for 2008 would be pro-rated starting from the later of your purchase date, the start of your initial UY and the occupancy date of the Unit you purchased. Since BCV is already open, the occupancy date is a non-issue. If you purchased today your UY start date would be Feb 1, 2008 and your purchase date would be Oct 22, 2008 so that is the date that would used to pro-rate your MFs. You would be billed for 70 days worth of MFs: 9 days in Oct + 30 days in Nov + 31 days in Dec.

If you added on at a resort that isn't open yet (BLT or the Kidani building at AKV) then the occupancy date would most likely determine the start date for your pro-rated fees unless your initial UY began after that date.

We just did an add-on at AKV in September (last month). We have an August use year and we recieved Aug 2009 points, I'll type that again so you know it is NOT a typo - August 2009. There were no more August 08 pts at Jambo House, so our add-on was Kidani, and our points begin in August 09 (we can of course borrow them). Our maintenance fees will begin in May 09. My guide did say that if I really wanted the August '08 points he could waitlist them for me. That didn't really appeal to me, so he offered me double the developer points to make up for the '08 points I would not be getting. Not quite as good as '08 points but oh well.

Moral of the story, Call your guide and ask if there are any points left in Jambo for your use year.

Kidani has LOTS of points available - and will likely have points available for quite awhile. However, there were no points for December, 2007 so the earliest you could get add-on points would be 12/1/2008 and those would not be available for use until the date your unit is ready for occupancy.

I had assumed that the reason I couldn't get 8/08 pts was because Jambo was sold out. I guess that means 8/08 Kidani pts were also not available when I added on. Sorry for the confusion.
