Disney has listed that the Swiss Family tree house is going to be up for rehab Sept.7 thru Oct.24. Too much rehab going on at once if you ask me.

There never is a good time for rehab at WDW. But they have to do it so maybe during your trip you could discover some new rides.

I wonder if they are finally going to turn that into Tarzans Treehouse?

Wow---yet another rehab :(

Why do they pick OCT for it? OCT's not even a value season anymore because attendance is higher...

Resort rates are not reflective of park attendance. Resorts are at a high capacity in October due to high Convention traffic.

The information is actually on the offical website

Magic Kingdom® Park

Big Thunder Mountain will be closed for refurbishment August 24, 2003 - November 19, 2003.
The Swiss Family Treehouse will be closed for refurbishment
September 7, 2003 - October 24, 2003.

I see, thanks :)
Still frustrating though!

So nothing official on Lion King yet? The rumor for it is only about 3 weeks away. Maybe its not true???

I wonder if their thinking is, since Mission Space will be officially open, if that is why a rehab is scheduled for BTMRR - as well as the other numerous rehabs that seem to be happening, or rumored to be happening.

I am all for rehabs, as they need to be done, but doing so many at one time is disappointing. My main thing is for RNR to be open - DH and I love that ride, and are so looking forward to it. BTMRR is good, though it isn't something we are dying to go on, either. Too many headliner rides down at one time would really be a downer for us!

Just in case, we have extra tickets to IOA/USF - I can atleast ride a rollercoaster there if all else fails!

I just got off the phone with Disney . I called 1-407-939-6244( # on the Disney web site). After first telling me FOTLK was not listed, she put me on hold while she made a call. She then told me it would be down from Aug 25. I asked if she meant the 24th since that is the date that has been on the boards. She said no, the 25th. Hope this helps.

I might be the only one, but I really wish they would keep Swiss Family Treehouse as is. I love that movie so much and the whole treehouse has always fascinated me - I wish I had one. Tarzan just wasn't a great movie to me, it lacked something somehow.

We are getting in to MK on the 23rd at around 2:30pm I SURE hope there are Fast Passes left for Big Thunder because it goes down the next day. I really want to ride but I bet lines will be long on a Saturday. I wish we could do E-ticket night on the 22nd but everything is already booked. We had Epcot scheduled for Sunday but now we may have to run over to AK to catch FOLK. I feel really bad for you September/October folks. Why oh why are all these things going down after they pushed the FTP? Do you think it did not bring in as many bookings as they thought it would so they are going ahead with rehabs? If so I guess lines will be good for you all and the parks will be light!

Lets hope for short lines. ;)

One thing I did notice was they waited until after they stopped booking the FTP to officially announce there would be no Osbourne Lights this year. I was wondering if that was intentional, or coincidence.

Thanks for the info njdiznygal. Wouldnt you know we are going to AK on our first park day, the 25th. Oh well, guess we will have to wait until December for Lion King.

All I can say after seeing SO MANY rehabs being done in Sept-Oct is that I'm glad I decided to skip the Disney parks (as hard as it's going to be to be in Orlando and NOT do the Disney parks, LOL) this year and just do US/IOA and Seaworld.

We are planning on doing MNSSHP on October 3 though.....um.......wonder if I should cancel that plan.....no.....I want to see the Magic Kingdom decorated for Halloween - only time of the year I've never been.
