I'm scheduled to go to WDW from a Saturday to the following Sunday. I'm on Southwest's website now and see that there is a flight to MCO that leaves at 8:10pm & arrives at 11pm. I'm wondering if I should grab this flight down on Friday night and pay for one more hotel night to allow for a full day on Saturday in the parks. I'm doing the MYW package. I would not add another park day to my pass, but was wondering if I was to check in on Friday night before midnight, would that add another day to my dining plan?

Make the one night stay on a separate reservation. Have them link the two reservations together. You probably won't have to move but just check back in the next morning.

Would the room cost more to book it separate versus adding it to current reservation?

Make sure they have the availability. We could extend our stay with the airline but not the hotel.

I'm going to give Disney a call as soon as I log off to add the extra night. Will see if they have the room at a discount, but if not, will book anyway and keep an eye out for codes.

The flights won't open up for another couple of months, but I have Ding on my desktop from Southwest, so that keeps me informed. There's also a flight that leaves a little earlier than that, so that is also an option. I just thought by catching a flight the night before would allow for 8 full days and one 1/2 day in the parks and resorts.

We did this, only we stayed at an airport hotel the night we arrived (got to MCO around midnight) and had a pickup from FL Tours around 8 am or so. Worked well for us.

Called Disney and booked the one night through them for $61. The CM was a little on the pushy side regarding payment, though. He said you can pay me now to secure your reservation. I told him that I would like a confirmation, as I wanted to send payment via a check. He said, "Well, it better be here by the 23rd or your reservation will automatically be deleted. You really should pay now." I told him thanks, but would pay upon receipt of the confirmation.

Now that's done. Next is waiting for the flights to open up.

You have two weeks to pay.....at least that is what they told me when I made my ressie

I usually pay by credit card. and I know I have 14 days to pay, I just like seeing the ressie before I do that. That way I know the dates and location is correct.
